At Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Western Washington & Alaska (RMHC), we support seriously ill children and their families. At the Seattle Ronald McDonald House, we provide a "home-away-from-home" to help families through a difficult time. We also provide a van service for families staying in Anchorage while their children receive medical care.

And we support community engagement and partnerships to better understand the root causes of poverty and displacement in Seattle. Our name honors Roberta Byrd Barr—a passionate, fearless advocate, and a presence in Seattle’s Civil Rights movement. Roberta led marches to demand de-segregation in schools and fought to provide the next generation a better, more equitable future. Our name is a recognition of the Black leaders that committed their lives to fighting for what is right, and we are re-rooting ourselves in the values that have defined the organization since its founding in 1964—compassion, resilience, and equity.

Co-founded by Drs. John and Julie Schwartz Gottman, The Gottman Institute has two major functions: helping couples directly, and providing state-of-the-art training to mental health professionals and other health care providers. The Gottman Institute applies leading-edge research on marriage in a practical, down-to-earth therapy and trains therapists committed to helping couples. No other approach to couples education and therapy has relied on such intensive, detailed, and long-term scientific study of why marriages succeed or fail. Just as Masters and Johnson were pioneers in the study of human sexuality, so Dr. John Gottman has revolutionized the study of marriage. For nearly four decades he has conducted research on all facets of relationships, including parenting issues. At The Gottman Institute, in collaboration with Dr. Julie Schwartz Gottman, he developed an approach that not only supports and repairs troubled marriages and committed relationships, but strengthens happy ones. The Gottman Institute provides live workshops and take-home training materials for couples, while The Gottman Referral Network provides therapy referrals to couples. We understand that the human family is in crisis, and that all individuals are capable of and deserve compassion. It is our mission to reach out to families in order to help create and maintain greater love and health in relationships.

The Washington Health Alliance works collaboratively to transform Washington state's health care system for the better. The Alliance brings together more than 185 committed member organizations to improve health and health care by offering a forum for critical conversation and aligned efforts by health plans, employers, union trusts, hospitals and hospital systems, health care professionals, start-up and pharmaceutical companies, consultants, consumers, and other health care partners. I created a 6 week program of nutrition education for food bank clients including readable brochures detailing specific health issues such as hypertension and diabetes prevention, as well as how to cook healthy meals with the food provided. I demonstrated dishes that illustrated the topic of the week and provided original recipes. I was delighted to form relationships, teach and counsel a diverse population within the community.

We are on a mission to make happy campers. At Camp Korey, childhood simply comes first. Our year-round programs include residential camp sessions, family weekends, camper reunions and community-based programs, always completely free of charge. Camp Korey is a member of SeriousFun Children's Network, a global community of sister camps founded by actor and philanthropist, Paul Newman.

whitmire is a team of nurses, social workers and other professionals who offers consultation, advocacy and care management services for individuals across the lifespan. Our organization was founded in 2003 with a focus on care management services for people with neurorehabilitation injuries and developmental disabilities. Over the years we expanded our expertise to serve and care for individuals with mental illness, chemical dependency, ASD, and aging care needs. We take a collaborative approach to assisting clients with their unique physical, emotional and lifestyle needs. We work with family members, clinicians, care staff, advisers, and other resources to ensure that our dynamic support system encompasses all aspects of the individual that we serve. We use comprehensive care assessments and benefits analyses in order to gauge to guide our treatment plans. We also recruit qualified care staff and clinicians who coordinate the teaching of life skills and related competencies. Throughout this process we strive to empower our clients to make informed decisions about their treatment plans. We lay a foundation that encourages self-confidence, increased independence, and ultimately an improved quality of life.
