LAIRD NORTON TRUST COMPANY, LLC
Seattle, Washington

Laird Norton Company (LNC) is a seventh generation diversified holding company with significant investments in real estate, financial services companies and private equity funds. We believe patience isn’t just a virtue. It’s an advantage. Nimble, efficient, and highly experienced, we are long-term investors who have put lasting partnerships over quick profits for more than 150 years. Our reputation as responsible business stewards is built upon seven generations of doing business the right way—with fairness, transparency, and respect. LNC is actively seeking to make long-term equity investments of between $5 million and $50 million in lower middle market operating companies and commercial real estate. We are located in Seattle, WA and focus on investments in the Western United States, including the Rocky Mountain States, and British Columbia. LNC invests patient equity capital in leading lower middle-market companies in consumer brands, building materials and asset management. Because we invest from our own capital base, we’re able to structure transactions in ways private equity firms can’t match. We are distinct in that we are never a forced buyer, nor a forced seller. Our long-term investment horizon means that decisions are based on reasonable return rates and sustained growth, not arbitrary holding periods and rigid IRR clocks. We do not shy away from taking on minority positions and will invest in companies with an EBITDA between $1 and $20 million. Over the course of our history, we’ve invested hundreds of millions of dollars in dozens of organizations. Today, we’re focused on investing in companies that feature experienced management teams, have business models built for the long-term, and reflect our values.

Express Credit Union is a community based and member-owned nonprofit financial institution serving the Puget Sound community since 1934. We offer checking and savings accounts, loans and other products that deliver great value and exceptional service to our members. Our new focus is on providing low and moderate income families affordable financial services as a secure alternative to banks, payday lenders and check cashers. We believe that by providing products that are designed specifically for our members, we can help them build assets and achieve financial security. We also believe that financial education, case management, translation services and other support will help our members strengthen their families and communities. We are committed to providing access to our services in the communities where our members live and work. Community member service representatives maintain regular hours at satellite desks located at local social services organizations throughout King County. By bringing our services directly to our members, we can help them enroll in direct deposit, apply for loans, learn how to use their accounts more effectively and achieve their financial goals. We recognize that it takes the community and trusted community partners to ensure that we are meeting the needs of all of our members. We partner with local community based organizations that will provide financial education, translation and other complimentary services to our members.
