In 1973, a group of individuals banded together to form what would later be known as Imagine the Possibilities – a nonprofit organization that is purposed to serve individuals with disabilities. While not known then, the leaders of this organization would later join many other like-minded organizations across the state of Iowa that all had one common theme in mind – to empower people to reach individual achievement across the spectrum of life. The focus of Imagine the Possibilities has always remained the same: to give people equal opportunities to reach their goals and be an active member of their community. EPI is honored to be a six-time recipient of the Courier's Employers of Choice award - latest award received in 2022! EPI was created in 1957 by group of parents who wanted a better future for their children with disabilities. Today’s EPI is a private, non-profit organization which fosters the active community participation of people with disabilities through residential and transportation services, day activity centers, community living, employment services and much more. We believe involvement in the community is important for those we serve. The individuals we serve live and work in the community, shop at local stores, attend public events, volunteer - and just plain enjoy what the community has to offer. Additionally, EPI works to expand child care options and to improve the quality of child care available for all families in Northeast Iowa through it's Child Care Resources and Referral of Northeast Iowa program. EPI serves over 5,500 children, adults, and families in Northeast Iowa a year and employs more than 400 dedicated individuals.

We believe all individuals are endowed with the same fundamental rights and needs, are entitled to opportunities promoting the fulfillment of those rights and needs, continue to develop throughout their lives, and should have the opportunity to become contributing members of their community.

Hills & Dales is a not-for-profit human services organization that provides services to children and adults with intellectual and physical disabilities throughout Eastern Iowa. It has always been the primary focus to serve people with significant medical needs. Hills & Dales values a quality of life that enhances dignity, upholds rights and encourages choices by the individual. Our mission is to build meaningful lives for individuals with disabilities by offering services that support the whole person and enhance community inclusion. The organization provides residential, home and community based supported living, respite, inclusive childcare, therapy programs, autism programs, senior citizen services and inter-generational programs for people of all ages and abilities.
