ProKids’ vision is a safe, permanent and nurturing home for every child. For 32 years, ProKids has been advocating for abused and neglected children by mobilizing our community to break the vicious cycle of child abuse and neglect. We recruit, train, and support community volunteers to speak up for children who have been abused and neglected, and help guide them into safe environments where they can thrive. The heart of this effort is our CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteers. Each CASA volunteer is assigned to a foster child – making sure the child is safe, that the child’s needs are being met, and helping each child move into a safe, permanent and nurturing home as quickly as possible. For more than a decade, 99% of children represented by ProKids were free from abuse while in the foster care system.

Community Partnerships is a nonprofit organization serving children with mental health issues to be successful in their homes, schools, and communities. Community Partnerships currently provides the following programs and services: Children Come First—An intensive case management program serving children in Dane County with mental health issues who are at risk of institutional placement. Case Management Services—Intensive case management services and wraparound support for children living outside of Dane County. The Engagement Project—A collaboration with the Madison School District and Memorial High School, working to successfully engage incoming freshman with an overall goal of increasing graduation rates for at risk youth. ArtSpeak—A therapeutic expressive arts group for children and families. Family Advocacy & Support—Parent and family support, including monthly Parent Meeting groups.

Cure SMA is dedicated to the treatment and cure of spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). Since 1984, Cure SMA has grown to be the largest U.S.-based network of individuals, families, clinicians, and research scientists working together to advance SMA research, support individuals and families impacted by SMA, and educate public and professional communities about SMA. Cure SMA funds and directs comprehensive research that drives breakthroughs in treatment, advances access to high-quality care, provides practical support programs, and advocates for the needs of the SMA community.
