The Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art was founded by Indianapolis businessman and philanthropist Harrison Eiteljorg. Its mission—to inspire an appreciation and understanding of the art, history and cultures of the American West and the indigenous peoples of North America. The museum executes this charge in exciting and often surprising ways. The Eiteljorg collects and preserves high-quality Western art and Native American art and cultural objects. Its collection includes artists such as T.C. Cannon, N. C. Wyeth, Andy Warhol, Georgia O’Keeffe, Allan Houser, Frederic Remington, Charles Russell and Kay WalkingStick. The institution’s contemporary Native art collection has been ranked among the world’s best. The Eiteljorg also prides itself on offering engaging exhibitions. Special exhibitions at the Eiteljorg have covered diverse subjects, including the artistry and histories of pistols and motorcycles; the intersecting experiences of African- and Native Americans; Jewish life in the West; and the work of iconic artists Ansel Adams and Georgia O’Keeffe. The museum allows guests to further immerse themselves in Western and Native cultures through dynamic programs, cultural exchanges and events. The Eiteljorg has explored LGBT representation in Western film; celebrated women in the West and hosts a variety of Western and Native artists in residence each year. The Eiteljorg Museum is the only museum of its kind in the Midwest, and one of only two museums east of the Mississippi that explore both Native America and the American West. MISSION The Madison Museum of Contemporary Art is an independent organization that exhibits, collects, and preserves modern and contemporary art to provide transformative experiences that educate, reflect, and inspire us as individuals and a community. HISTORY After a distinguished 105-year history in borrowed and refurbished spaces, the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art opened to the public on April 23, 2006, in a new facility within Overture Center for the Arts. Designed by world-renowned architect Cesar Pelli, the museum's exhilarating facility offers 51,500 square feet of space for the study, presentation, and conservation of modern and contemporary art, as well as a 7,100-square-foot rooftop sculpture garden. Public amenities include spacious galleries, a 230-seat lecture hall, a children's classroom, a new-media gallery, and a study center for drawings, prints, and photographs. COLLECTION The museum's collection traces its origins to a major gift from Rudolph and Louise Langer in 1968. Through donations and museum purchases, the collection has grown to become an important community resource. Works span the twentieth and twenty-first centuries and include paintings, sculpture, photography, prints, and drawings. EXHIBITIONS Exhibitions are the cornerstone of MMoCA's public programs and have featured many of the most respected artists of the last century, including Robert Rauschenberg, Chuck Close, Sol LeWitt, George Segal, Ursula von Rydingsvard, and John Wilde. The main galleries, located on the second floor, host the museum's major exhibitions. The Henry Street Gallery presents exhibitions from the museum's permanent collection while the State Street Gallery offers a changing roster of exhibitions and installations. MMoCA's rooftop sculpture garden presents major works on a rotating basis in an illuminated garden setting.

The Butterworth Center & Deere-Wiman House is located in the Overlook District of Moline, Illinois. Both historic homes once belonged to John Deere’s descendants but are now operated by the William Butterworth Foundation. They serve as year-round sites for quality educational and cultural events, meeting space for over 200 not-for-profit organizations, and tours for local, national, and international visitors.

The mission of the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art is to excite, engage, and educate through the arts. The Cedar Rapids Museum of Art houses more than 8,000 works of art spanning many eras—from Roman antiquity to the present. The collection is particularly strong in American art, especially from the first half of the 20th century. There are a number of artists the Museum holds in great depth—including the world's largest collection of works of art by Grant Wood. The Museum also possesses a strong collection of Roman portrait busts donated by Tom and Nan Riley, and an extensive print collection from the 15th century forward primarily donated by Peter O. Stamats. The collection is too comprehensive to be displayed all at once. That means chances are good that you'll see different, breathtaking pieces each time you visit!

The Figge Art Museum is the premier art exhibition and education facility between Chicago and Des Moines. Its landmark glass building on the banks of the Mississippi, designed by British architect David Chipperfield, is home to one of the Midwest’s finest art collections, and presents world-class traveling exhibitions. The only multidisciplinary museum of its kind in the nation, the Peoria Riverfront Museum uses art, science, history, and achievement to inspire confidence, lifelong learning and talent. Since opening in 2012, the privately funded museum has provided nearly one million experiences through major exhibitions, a permanent collection, interactive galleries, a dome planetarium, giant screen theater, and educational programming including curricula-related experiences for all students. The AAM-accredited, Smithsonian-affiliated nonprofit museum is supported by more than 4,000 members and donors. The private museum is housed in a county-owned LEED Gold-certified building on a campus overlooking the Illinois River.

The Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis works to enrich lives and inspire curiosity, creativity, and learning through experiences with contemporary art. Wellfield Botanic Gardens is ‘a living museum’ located at 1011 N. Main St., Elkhart, Indiana. Situated on the historic North Main Street well field, the Gardens are 36 acres in size, including 18 acres of water. The private, not-for-profit was created in 2005 to celebrate the inseparable relationship between water and life, inspire creativity and lifelong learning, foster stewardship of our natural world, and grow community. The garden is open year-round. Activities include special events and festivals, workshops and educational opportunities, a summer concert series, winter holiday lights, and seasonal programming.
