PRESIDIO HILL SCHOOL
PRESIDIO HILL SCHOOL
San Francisco, California
100-499 employees
At Presidio Hill we encourage students to question, evaluate, and think creatively and independently – a mission that runs seamlessly through the past, present, and future of our school. Presidio Hill is a co-educational independent school with an enrollment of just over 200 students distributed across one class per grade in the lower school and two classes per grade in the middle school. Our intentionally small size fosters a nurturing educational community that is responsive to each student’s particular characteristics and learning style. Our students develop critical thinking and social skills as they actively engage in projects and solve problems through a well-crafted curriculum that is academically challenging, collaborative, and creative. Presidio Hill is deeply progressive. We have been continuously refining our progressive practices since 1918 - longer than any other progressive school in California. Our emphasis on inquiry, problem solving, social skills and social responsibility equips our students to shape creative responses to a rapidly changing multicultural world, both as individuals and as global citizens. With technology, society and the earth’s climate changing at a rate that outpaces our thinking about them, how do we prepare our children for the 21st century? By empowering them to think critically and creatively, grounding them in collaborative approaches, and building the confidence and imagination that support bold innovation.
