Catlin Gabel is a co-educational, independent day school in Portland serving 760 students in preschool through 12th grade. The school’s roots reach back to 1859. The 1957 merger of the Catlin Hillside School and Gabel Country Day School established the highly respected school that flourishes today. FoodCorps partners with schools and communities to nourish kids’ health, education, and sense of belonging so that every child, in every school, experiences the joy and power of food. Our AmeriCorps members serve alongside educators and school nutrition leaders to provide kids with nourishing meals, food education, and culturally affirming experiences with food that celebrate and nurture the whole child. Building on this direct service, FoodCorps advocates for policy change, grows networks, and develops leaders in service of every kid’s health and wellbeing. Our goal is that by 2030, every child will have access to food education and nourishing food in school.

Serendipity Center has been helping the pieces fit for troubled children for more than 35 years. We are Portland's only private, accredited special education school that is also a licensed mental health provider. Serendipity serves students with a variety of challenges related to developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder, trauma, and/or other psychiatric disorders. Students are referred to Serendipity when other special education placements have not been successful. Serendipity is often our student's last opportunity for a successful educational experience.

Portland Opportunities Industrialization Center and Rosemary Anderson High School provides the highest quality services in education, mentoring, family outreach, employment training, and placement. Rosemary Anderson is an accredited alternative high school serving students who are looking for small classes, inspiring teachers, and more whole-life support as they work towards completing their high school diploma or GED. Each student receives individual support from our team of teachers and career training advocates, who works with students to find the best path forward in school and in career preparation. Once connected to our team, we continue to provide mentoring after graduation through the transition to college or career training, and stay with the student until the age of 25. Services include small classes, field trips, mentors, Sylvan tutors, counseling and social support services, employment and training programs, connections to internships, after school classes including yoga, art, drama and music, teen parent programs, and free breakfast and lunch. Childpeace Montessori offers a unique urban Montessori experience at our main campus in NW Portland, our new Metro Montessori building and our inter-generational program in a SE Portland satellite classroom.
