AgeSpan, formerly Elder Services of the Merrimack Valley and North Shore, is a private nonprofit agency established in 1974 to help people in northeast Massachusetts maintain their highest levels of independence, health, and safety as they age. AgeSpan serves as a trusted resource, connecting people of all ages and abilities and their caregivers with impartial information, quality services, and vigorous advocacy to help them lead fulfilling lives in the community. AgeSpan is a designated federal Area Agency on Aging (AAA), a Massachusetts Aging Service Access Point (ASAP), and elder protective service agency.

Southern New Hampshire Services, Inc. (SNHS) is a private non-profit corporation chartered in the State of New Hampshire, May 21, 1965 to serve as the Community Action Agency for Hillsborough County in compliance with the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964. From 1965 through 1969, SNHS was known as the Community Action Agency for Hillsborough County and served the City of Nashua and the twenty-nine towns. In 1969 the organization became the Community Action Agency for the City of Manchester as well. In 1974 the agency’s name was changed to Southern New Hampshire Services, Inc. In July, 2011, Rockingham Community Action (RCA), the Community Action Agency serving Rockingham County, was merged with Southern New Hampshire Services. SNHS had served as the administrative agent for RCA since October, 2008. As a result of this merger SNHS now provides services to residents of both Hillsborough and Rockingham counties. As a Community Action Agency, it is SNHS’ purpose to provide social service programs and advocacy activities for the economically disadvantaged, elderly, youth and other specialized populations in the organization’s service area. SNHS operates 64 programs, contracting with the Federal, State and local governments as well as other social service agencies and private entities. The programs offered include Child Care, Early Head Start, Head Start, Women Infants and Children (WIC) Nutrition Program, Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), Energy Assistance, Weatherization, Asset Development, Supportive Housing for the Homeless, Homelessness Prevention programs, Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), as well as several initiatives under the Workforce Investment Act. Supported by City of Portsmouth and U.S. Housing and Urban Development Community Development Block Grant Program.

Penquis is a community of people who have joined in a common mission to assist individuals and families in preventing, reducing, or eliminating poverty in their lives and, through partnerships, to engage the community in addressing economic and social needs. Established in 1967, Penquis is a not-for-profit organization offering a variety of services to help individuals and families be safe, healthy, connected and financially secure. Efforts focus on increasing school readiness, health and well-being, safe housing, reliable transportation and financial stability.

KVCAP is a non-profit community action program which has been providing services to the people of Kennebec and Somerset counties for over 40 years. We offer a variety of services geared towards helping our clients achieve economic and social self-sufficiency. Each year, thousands of residents access KVCAP services to assist them in their struggle to overcome the barriers of poverty. Many of our services are available to people of all income levels.

For over fifty years, York County Community Action Corporation has been providing services and presenting opportunities to support the economic, social, educational, physical and emotional wellbeing of York County residents. Guided by the principles outlined in the preamble to the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964, to “eliminate the paradox of poverty in the midst of plenty,” YCCAC believe that all individuals deserve the opportunity to live full and meaningful lives, with a warm and safe place to call home, reliable transportation, affordable health care, nutritious food and, above all, a sense of purpose within a safe and supportive community.

Community Action, Inc. (formerly known as Jefferson-Clarion County Economic Opportunity Association, Inc.) was established in 1965 as a private, non-profit charitable 501(c)(3) corporation and has been designated by the Boards of Commissioners of Clarion and Jefferson Counties to serve as a multi-purpose administering and service delivery entity for a variety of anti-poverty, social and/or humanistic programs. Community Action, Inc. has served the Clarion and Jefferson County area continuously since inception. Woodfords Family Services is a nonprofit organization committed to the support and inclusion of people with special needs and their families in Maine communties. For 50 years, Woodfords has supported children, youth and adults to reach their highest potentiall and reach their goals. Woodfords is based in Westbrook, Maine with satellite location in Manchester, Waterville and Topsham and provides services in 11 of Maine's 16 counties. The agency employs approximately 500 individuals who work with more than 1,500 families and many schools and community organizations each year.
