KVCAP is a non-profit community action program which has been providing services to the people of Kennebec and Somerset counties for over 40 years. We offer a variety of services geared towards helping our clients achieve economic and social self-sufficiency. Each year, thousands of residents access KVCAP services to assist them in their struggle to overcome the barriers of poverty. Many of our services are available to people of all income levels.

The Island Institute works alongside Maine’s island and coastal leaders to build community sustainability in island and coastal communities and share solutions for addressing our coast’s most critical issues. While our work remains rooted in Maine, it has also expanded beyond our state through partnerships with coastal communities across the country and the world. With more than 150,000 year-round islanders in the U.S. alone, we see an opportunity to build a vast network through which we can exchange ideas and solutions to help address the challenges we all share. The critical needs of our coast are priorities that require coordinated resources and leadership over the coming decade and beyond. Crisis & Counseling Centers (C&C) is a 53-year-old multi-service mental health and substance use disorder agency headquartered in Augusta, Maine. C&C’s mission is to develop and deliver effective solutions to the diverse behavioral health needs of our community in a professional and respectful manner. The agency provides a comprehensive treatment continuum which includes: Crisis Mobile Resolution and Crisis Stabilization Unit services; youth suicide prevention; mental health, substance use disorder and co-occurring disorders treatment; statewide parent/caregiver support through its G.E.A.R. Parent Network program; Children’s Targeted Case Management; Targeted Case Management for pregnant women or parents struggling with substance use disorder; and medication management.

Midcoast Maine Community Action (MMCA) empowers people to build better lives for stronger communities. The agency connects the community with resources that promote health and quality of life, education and economic independence. MMCA supports regional activities which encourage economic sustainability and social equity within the midcoast area.

The Maine Primary Care Association is a nonprofit organization devoted to strengthening Maine’s community health centers - and the 200,000 patients they serve annually - and to ensuring access to quality healthcare (primary care, dental care and behavioral health care) is available for all Maine people. Maine’s community health centers include Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) located throughout the state.. MPCA provides health centers with a wide variety of technical assistance and training including quality improvement, health information technology, outreach and enrollment, emergency preparedness and strategic planning, in addition to leading statewide public policy and advocacy efforts.

Southern Kennebec Child Development Corporation SKCDC is dedicated to providing, sponsoring, and facilitating the development of quality early care and education programs in Kennebec and southern Somerset Counties in Maine.

Family Violence Project is the Domestic Violence Resource Center serving Kennebec and Somerset Counties in Central Maine.

Established in 2014, our mission is to break cycles of poverty and homelessness, empowering our clients to realize and maintain productive, self-reliant and independent lives. Our services are delivered with respect, dignity and genuine caring, fulfilling our promise of home, help, and hope. Homeworthy’s comprehensive programming includes the Hospitality House Family Shelter; The Landing Place youth program; comprehensive case management; aftercare to support clients recently placed into housing; transportation services; a Welcome Center, which handles intakes and emergency walk-ins, offering laundry and shower facilities; and a complete Donation Center that provides food, clothing, and household goods to those in need.

Serenity Residential Care, LLC, is a human services agency dedicated to supporting people with intellectual disabilities and cognitive disorders to maintain a safe and healthy life in a community, rather than in a nursing or mental health facility. Our goal is to provide beautiful and comfortable homes with 24/7 staff support. This service helps our members be part of a community where everyone is cared for with respect and dignity, and where everyone enjoys life in its abundance. Serenity Residential Care is dedicated to maintaining the safety of all members in our programs and to making sure they have the support they need while out in the community and in our homes. We currently maintain beautiful and very convenient homes in Windham, Westbrook, and South Portland. Our mission is to serve people with intellectual disabilities and cognitive disorders by providing them with a healthy and safe environment. We strive to empower members who have behavioral disabilities to achieve their day-to-day goals and to help them gain access to available community resources, in a safe and enjoyable manner. We train our staff to embrace the cause of devoting themselves to assisting each of our members. We support our residents as they make choices regarding their safety and the well-being of the Serenity Cares community, as valuable and contributing members of their community at large. Our Philosophy is tailored to meet the needs of people who face challenges in independent living. Our trained staff keep our members safe, whether they are out in the community or in one of our appropriate residential homes.
