The Administrative Control Authority (ACA), has been mandated to play the central coordinating role for detecting as well as fighting corruption in the government, the public business sector, and the private sector that is involved in public work, through exercising all types of control including financial, administrative, technical and criminal. It was established in 1964 as an independent organization affiliated with the Prime Minister following Law 54/1964. Furthermore, the ACA is responsible for ensuring the implementation of enforced laws, applied regulations and systems.
