HR consultant Jenny Bedell thinks that there are a couple initial actions that any company can take in order to evaluate and eliminate any discrimination that may be occurring at the workplace on the basis of gender.

After noting that women earn 18% less on average than their male counterparts, Bedell recommends that correcting any pay disparity gaps is a great place to start for companies that want to address these issues. 

Further, ensuring that the path toward leadership positions is comparably accessible to employees regardless of gender, especially at that first rung on the leadership ladder where an imbalance of opportunity can result in grossly inequitable outcomes among the upper management ranks.
