Lead accountant and grants manager for a federally funded and federally mandated nonprofit agency. Prepare and develop agency and program budgets; prepare financial reports and present the reports to the Board of Directors at quarterly board meetings. Establish and submit the budget portions of grant applications to secure funding from federal and state government agencies. Awarded several grants in the amounts of $85,000 - $500,000. Administer and monitor grants to subgrant recipients; ensure contract compliance and that request for reimbursements contain allowable costs and align with deliverables. Audited federal and state multiyear grants to ensure timely and accurate spending of grant funds; identified discrepancies and balanced the budgets. Understand, manage and prepare monthly grant billing and reports from several funding sources; align expenditures with approved budget line items using QuickBooks and Excel spreadsheets. Responsible for all AR/AP, payroll, deposits, postings, allocations, reconciliations, journal entries, invoicing, securing enough documentation, tracking credit card expenditures. Coordinate all functions for quarterly and annual audits and works closely with CPAs.
