WHY be an independent wholesale broker vs a retail broker? Brokering myths and WHY brokering may be the right move for you! MYTH- I won't have any control of my loans. TRUTH- We are closing loans faster than any retail bank out there. MYTH- I will no longer have relationships with my underwriters. TRUTH- You can speak to any of our underwriters at any of our wholesale lenders we work with. The lenders we work with provide the customer service, WE WANT! MYTH- Why are retail rates always changing in the retail market? It must surely be worse when you're a broker? TRUTH- This is a practice that retail lenders participate in. They increase margins ever so slowly, to make more profits. Once loan officers catch on and complain, miraculously rates improve. With the independent broker model, like ours, lenders must stay sharp because they realize we are able to take our business anywhere we choose and in choice comes power. MYTH- Bigger is always better, as in big banks have more options. TRUTH- Margins are higher on FHA and VA loans on retail. For example, we don't believe in charging VET's and first time homebuyers, higher interest rates to “make up,” for the losses on conventional loans. We can always do rate comparisons at any time on these products and the differences are astounding. As brokers at Advantage Mortgage, you'll always have a say. If you want to make changes or have ideas about how to do things better, we encourage it. We are in this to win this for our team and for our clients, TOGETHER!
