The Human Services Council is the voice of the human services community of New York City. HSC works with its broad member base to identify areas of concern shared by NYC's human services sector. We use our unparalled access to NY government to address member issues and proactively negotiate for budget, policy and legislative reform.

The Center for Discovery, designated as a Center of Excellence by the New York State Department of Health and OPWDD, is a major research and specialty center that offers residential, medical and special education programs as well as world-class Music and Creative Arts Therapy, Adapted Physical Education, and a biodynamic agricultural program among other unique services. Founded in 1972, Covenant House is the largest primarily privately-funded agency in the North and Central America offering free 24/7 crisis care, housing, and supportive services for youth, young families, and survivors of human trafficking. The Center for Family Support (CFS) provides individualized support services and programs for individuals living with developmental disabilities, and for the families that care for them. QSAC is a New York City and Long Island based nonprofit that supports children and adults with autism, together with their families, in achieving greater independence, realizing their future potential, and contributing to their communities in a meaningful way by offering person-centered services. ​ QSAC pursues this mission through direct services that provide a supportive and individualized setting for children and adults with autism to improve their communication, socialization, academic, vocational, and functional skills. QSAC was founded in 1978 by a group of parents confronted with the limited service options for their children with autism. Today, QSAC provides direct services to more than 2,600 children and adults throughout the region. QSAC pursues its mission through direct services that provide a supportive 
and individualized setting for children and adults with autism to improve 
their communication, socialization, academic, and functional skills.
 Programs for children include early intervention, preschool, school, after
school, and in-home educational and support services. QSAC’s adult programs 
include supportive living, skill development programs, vocational training and job placement, and in-home services. All of QSAC’s programs provide supportive and trained staff, 
high-impact services, and a commitment to quality.
