The Center for Discovery, designated as a Center of Excellence by the New York State Department of Health and OPWDD, is a major research and specialty center that offers residential, medical and special education programs as well as world-class Music and Creative Arts Therapy, Adapted Physical Education, and a biodynamic agricultural program among other unique services. Located less than two hours from New York City, The Center has become a magnet institution where individuals from around New York State and the world travel to receive highly advanced care and access to groundbreaking research and treatment for a myriad of disabilities and complex conditions. Founded in 1990, Zufall Health is an award-winning, nonprofit, state-licensed community health center that provides access to high-quality, affordable medical, dental. and behavioral treatment to people and communities who experience barriers to care. Nearly 45,000 patients are served at its headquarters site in Dover as well as offices in Bridgewater, Flemington, Franklin Township, Morristown, Newton, Plainsboro, Somerville, Hackettstown, West Orange, and on its Highlands Health Van and Zufall Health Delta Dental Mobile.

NMIC was founded in 1979 to serve the low-income residents of Upper Manhattan. Our mission is to serve as a catalyst for positive change in the lives of the people in our community on their paths to secure and prosperous futures. Through our work, we preserve affordable housing through legal services, community organizing, and building weatherization, promote economic self-sufficiency with adult education and workforce development and offer supports of social services, health education, and domestic violence intervention. All NMIC services are free and bilingual in English and Spanish.

On January 21, 1847, a group of Poughkeepsie women called the Female Guardian Society met to form the Poughkeepsie Orphan House and Home of the Friendless to care for the poor, abandoned and neglected in their communities, most especially the children. Their belief was that all children deserve a nurturing and caring environment. More than 175 years later, their work continues. Today, the Children’s Home of Poughkeepsie provides a full range of Community Based Services and Residential Services giving hope and healing to at-risk children throughout New York State. Family Centers is a private, nonprofit organization offering education, health and human services to children, adults and families in Fairfield County.
