At CJR we believe every young person should have the opportunity to thrive. Our mission is to provide the necessary therapeutic treatment, education and support for young people and their families to promote positive change and transform lives. Founded in 1904, CJR provides residential, education, community and behavioral health services in locations across Connecticut that serve approximately 1,700 children, youth and families annually.

WIHD is one of the nation's 67 University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDDs). WIHD works towards a shared vision that foresees a future in which all people, including people with disabilities, participate fully in their communities. Independence, productivity, and community inclusion are key components of this vision. WIHD is uniquely positioned to facilitate the flow of disability-related information between community and university. The Institute works with people with disabilities, vulnerable children, members of their families, state and local government agencies, and community providers on projects that provide training, technical assistance, direct medical and clinical care, research, and information sharing, with a focus on building the capacity of communities to sustain all their citizens. Many issues, such as early intervention, health care, community-based services, inclusive and meaningful education, transition from school to work, employment, housing, assistive technology, and transportation have been directly addressed by the services, research, and training provided by the UCEDD's and WIHD.

The Arc of Essex County is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to helping children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities participate in every level of our society and enjoy fuller, more independent lives. Founded in 1948 by a group of innovative parents and community leaders, The Arc of Essex County provides a wide variety of programs and services that support nearly 1,500 people throughout Essex County from birth to their senior years. Founded in 1990, Zufall Health is an award-winning, nonprofit, state-licensed community health center that provides access to high-quality, affordable medical, dental. and behavioral treatment to people and communities who experience barriers to care. Nearly 45,000 patients are served at its headquarters site in Dover as well as offices in Bridgewater, Flemington, Franklin Township, Morristown, Newton, Plainsboro, Somerville, Hackettstown, West Orange, and on its Highlands Health Van and Zufall Health Delta Dental Mobile.

Connecticut Institute For Communities, Inc. (CIFC) is a locally based independent, non-profit, IRS recognized Section 501(C) (3) Community Development Corporation (CDC), whose Mission is dedicated to advancing our communities, and fostering greater opportunities for low and moderate income individuals and families of our service areas, through a combination of health and education programs, and housing and economic development projects. It is the only such organization in Western Connecticut.

Family & Children's Aid (FCA) is a community-based, non-profit agency designed to help support and heal Connecticut's children, adolescents and their families by providing high quality emerging and evidence-based mental health services. FCA believes that seeking help is a sign of strength and that excellent care should be available to individuals and families in all walks of life, whenever needed and without discrimination. FCA’s clinical services reach throughout western Connecticut and include group homes for children and adolescents who have been removed from their home environments by the CT Department of Children and Families, outpatient therapeutic programs, Therapeutic Foster Care program, and in-home and community-based services for children and families who are at-risk for, or are in the midst of crisis. FCA's main campus is located in Danbury, with additional offices in Waterbury, Torrington, New Britain, Shelton, Bridgeport and New Milford to better serve clients throughout western CT.

On January 21, 1847, a group of Poughkeepsie women called the Female Guardian Society met to form the Poughkeepsie Orphan House and Home of the Friendless to care for the poor, abandoned and neglected in their communities, most especially the children. Their belief was that all children deserve a nurturing and caring environment. More than 175 years later, their work continues. Today, the Children’s Home of Poughkeepsie provides a full range of Community Based Services and Residential Services giving hope and healing to at-risk children throughout New York State. The Home is licensed by the NYS Office of Children & Family Services (OCFS), the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) and the New York State Department of Health. HFH operates shelters for families experiencing homelessness in NYC. Our family residences are more than just a place to sleep. Families can make the most of their stay through accessing an array of onsite programs. Many of these programs are also available to people living in the local community. Our goal is to have a positive impact so families can thrive long after they leave our shelters. On any given day, 720 families with 780 children reside in our six family residences in the Bronx, Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island.

The Doe Fund's mission is to develop and implement cost-effective, holistic programs that meet the needs of a diverse population working to break the cycles of homelessness, addiction, and criminal recidivism. All of The Doe Fund's programs and innovative business ventures ultimately strive to help homeless and formerly incarcerated individuals achieve permanent self-sufficiency.
