Opened as the Home for Friendless Children in 1862, Children’s Service Center (together with its adult care affiliate, Robinson Counseling Center and the Conyngham Primary Health Care Center) serves serves 15,000 people annually throughout Northeastern and North Central Pennsylvania. More than 550 professionals and support staff provide assessment, counseling and crisis services, substance use disorder treatment and support, and primary care that includes prevention and screenings, sick care, and chronic disease management for people of all ages. Services provided at its Campus in Wilkes Barre, PA include: psychiatric and psychological evaluations; physical health services at Conyngham Primary Health Care Center for all ages; drug & alcohol counseling; day partial hospitalization; dialectical behavioral therapy; medication clinic; parent-child interaction therapy; first-episode psychosis services; and adoption. In addition, Community, family-based, and school-based services are provided throughout 13 counties and include, but are not limited to: autism, psychiatric rehabilitation, functional and intensive family therapy.
