The Leonard Wood Institute (LWI) is a tax exempt, nonprofit research focused organization located on Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri in the University of Missouri Technology Park. It also assists in improving technology in the Fort Leonard Wood region. LWI helps the Army identify and utilize the capabilities of researchers, from both public and private organizations, to perform training-related research and development and to provide services related to current and future Army programs that are nested with the Army's Maneuver Support Desired Enabling Capabilities. Partnership Intermediary: In order to complement the Data and Analysis Center's Human Systems Integration (DAC HSI) Field Element mission at Fort Leonard Wood, a Partnership Intermediary Agreement was established with the LWI to facilitate, align, and organize the efforts of small business, other industry, educational institutions, economic development organizations, and local and state governmental organizations to apply for and conduct research operations, development, demonstration and evaluation of material solutions; and transfer of these solutions to benefit DAC. Authorities: Under the authority of 15 U.S.C. 3715, DAC entered into an agreement with the Partnership Intermediary to provide services for DAC to increase the likelihood of success in the conduct of cooperative or joint activities with DAC and small business firms, institutions of higher education.
