Helping Hands Hawai‘i administers numerous programs that benefit the community, including the Bilingual Access Line, Emergency Assistance Program, Pūnāwai Program, SNAP, Community Clearinghouse, Ready to Learn and Adopt A Family. It also provides Community-Based Case Management and Representative Payee Services through its Behavioral Health division. These programs offers a full continuum of care for clients and represent distinct areas of need. They work in concert to help all of Hawai‘i realize its fullest potential in a rapidly evolving, increasingly global society. With a mission to connect individuals, families and organizations with essential human and material resources, Helping Hands Hawai‘i provides a vital lifeline for the local community – helping its members to help one another. The agency began as the Honolulu Council of Social Agencies’ Volunteer Placement Bureau in 1941 and incorporated as Helping Hands Hawaii in 1974. The agency is one of the most cost-efficient and effective non-profit organizations in the State of Hawai‘i. Through strong partnerships with local social service providers and innovative approaches to service-delivery, Helping Hands Hawai‘i keeps administrative and overhead costs low to ensure that the majority of agency funding is dedicated toward direct service delivery for those individuals and families that need help the most. As a non-profit organization, the revenues that support Helping Hands Hawai‘i come from a variety of sources. In addition to contracts with State agencies, grants from the local and national government and the Aloha United Way, private, corporate and foundation gifts play a significant role in the agency's ongoing success. Pacific Whale Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 1980 to save whales from extinction. Our mission is to protect our oceans through science and advocacy. We are an international organization, with ongoing research studies in Hawaii, Australia, and Ecuador, and are active participants in global efforts to address threats to whales and other marine life. A pioneer in non-invasive whale research, Pacific Whale Foundation was an early leader in educating the public, from a scientific perspective, about whales and the need for ocean conservation. Now celebrating 35 years as a nonprofit organization, Pacific Whale Foundation conducts humpback whale research in Hawaii, Ecuador and Australia as well as studies of odontocetes (dolphins and toothed whales) in Hawaii. Our work has been published in scientific, peer-reviewed journals, as well as in books, reports and informational materials for the public. Pacific Whale Foundation also support studies of blue whales in Chile.

The Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii (BGCH) provides services and programs for youth between the ages of 7 and 18 each year, in the areas of academic success, good character & citizenship, and healthy lifestyles. Every day, thousands of youth leave school with no place to go, putting them at risk of being unsupervised, unguided, and unsafe. For 47 years, the Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii (BGCH) has served as a safe haven for youth across Oahu and Kauai where youth can access a multitude of programs and services.
