In 1945, World War II was finally coming to a close and a young Marine named William O'Dell returned to his family with a warm welcome. With the support of family and friends, he began to make brooms and mops on the family homestead. As he traveled the Southeast selling his cleaning products, customers began to realize that these weren't just any mops or brooms; they were exceptional. Better yet, they came with the O'Dell promise: to offer the highest quality cleaning products with the best service possible, all at a fair price. From these humble beginnings, The O'Dell Corporation has grown into a leading cleaning products company. We've maintained the same, relentless commitment to customer service and performance that's helped us flourish for over 60 years. Today Pratrivero s.p.a. under the guidance of Paolo and Sergio Barberis Canonico is the world leader in the production of non-woven fabric using stitchbond technology. Stitchbond is used in various sectors: in furnishing, especially for the production of mattresses or sofas, in advertising banners, in footwear, in packaging as well as the automotive industry. The factory of Pratrivero is the historical site of the business, as well as the company's Headquarters. It produces all the greiges which are needed to supply the other plants. The history of Pratrivero s.p.a is interrelated with the history of the Barberis Canonico family. The first official reference of a textile activity relating to the family as clothes producers, is evidenced in a document of the Comune of Trivero, dated 20th of August 1663. Ajmo Barbera, descendant and namesake of the head of the family, registered on the "Quinternetto delle Taglie" a payment made to the Duke of Savoy and vassal of the area, a payment made partly in cash and partly with fabric, "grey twill", as way of barter. The history of the Barberis Canonico family and the history of the town of Pratrivero developed in parallel and in a complementary manner, for three and a half centuries, with fascinating human and entrepreneurial events, which followed the 14 generations, until modern times.
