Special Olympics Florida provides year-round sports training and competition to children and adults with intellectual disabilities, at no cost to the athlete or their caregiver, as a means to achieve physical fitness, self-esteem, socialization skills, and the life skills necessary to be a productive, respected and contributing members of their communities. Founded by the late Eunice Kennedy Shriver, Special Olympics is the world’s largest program of sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, serving 3.7 million people in more than 170 countries. In Florida, 25,000 athletes train and compete year round, in 20 different team and individual sports of their choice. Founded in 1972, Special Olympics Florida is a certified 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organization funded solely through the generosity of individuals, businesses and civic groups. This support allows Special Olympics to never charge the athlete or their families a fee for participation.

We are thrilled to announce that Tampa Lighthouse for the Blind is now Lighthouse for the Blind & Low Vision! The support of the community over the years has meant a great deal to the clients we serve and has been critical in helping us continue to provide comprehensive, quality programs and services that allow our clients to maximize their independence in the home, in the community, at school, and/or in the workplace. We feel it was important to express a clearer description of who — not only those who are blind but those who have low vision — and where we serve. The removal of “Tampa” from our name reduces confusion as to where we serve since our geographical footprint includes Hillsborough, Polk, and Hardee counties, as well as specialized rehabilitation engineering services throughout the state. This change will help bring more definition of our agency within the community, as we continue our mission to maximize and guide those with vision loss to the independence we all deserve. The rebranding includes a redesign of our logo, tagline, website, printed materials, and other marketing communications. New brand assets include a clean, blue and yellow logo, and the tagline: Guiding to Independence. It was extremely important to give attention to the design elements, as blind or vision-impaired clients are our agency’s core audience. We are thankful for the clients, donors, employees, and parents who were all engaged in the months-long process of narrowing down the choices for the renaming, logo and tagline to ensure that each audience was represented.

Health-ISAC (Health Information Sharing and Analysis Center), is a global, non-profit, member-driven organization where health sector stakeholders join a trusted community and forum for coordinating, collaborating and sharing vital physical and cyber threat intelligence and best practices with each other. Members use this information to extend their security operations team and to create situational awareness, inform risk-based decision-making and mitigate against threats. Membership is open to public & private hospitals, ambulatory providers, health insurance payers, pharmaceutical/biotech manufacturers, laboratory, diagnostic, medical device manufacturers, medical schools, medical R&D organizations and other relevant health sector stakeholders. Member organizations become more resilient by working together, benefiting the entire health sector and its vital role in critical infrastructure worldwide.

The Area Agency on Aging of Pasco-Pinellas, Inc. (AAAPP) is a 501(c)(3) private non-profit agency serving seniors and their caregivers in Pasco and Pinellas counties in Florida since 1974. Designated by the Department of Elder Affairs as the Area Agency on Aging for Planning and Service (PSA) Area 5, the agency’s focus is on funding, advocacy, services and programs for seniors in the two-county area of west central Florida. The Area Agency on Aging of Pasco-Pinellas, Inc. traces its origins to 1974, when the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council (TBRPC) assumed authority for the first Area Agency on Aging to cover Pasco and Pinellas counties. From 1974 until 2000, the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council operated as the designated Area Agency on Aging for Planning & Service Area (PSA) 5. In the fall of 2000, the Area Agency on Aging separated from TBRPC and became a 501(c)(3) non-profit agency. Currently, the AAAPP is one of eleven Area Agencies on Aging in Florida, and there are over 600 nationwide. Each AAA is responsible for administering a network of community and in-home services for older persons within their assigned PSA. The Healthy Start Coalition of Hillsborough County is a private, non-profit maternal and child health organization dedicated to reducing Hillsborough County’s infant mortality rate and improving the health of pregnant women. ​ The Healthy Start Coalition of Hillsborough County works with community organizations and individuals with a vested interest in maternal and child health to maximize community resources, and offer a variety of programs to meet the needs of women, children and families.

Love A Child is a non-profit Christian Humanitarian Organization reaching out and helping thousands of people living in the country of Haiti. Bobby and Sherry Burnette, founders, live in Haiti at the Love A Child Orphanage. We are working to spread the word of God and show the love of Jesus by example, as we minister to the poorest of the poor in Haiti. Our outreach programs include 18+ Love A Child schools, where we educate and feed over 8,000 children each day, and food distribution programs that feed thousands of Haitian families. With the help of our partners, we establish churches in villages, hold remote medical clinics and oversee many other projects to benefit the poor in Haiti.
