Special Olympics Florida provides year-round sports training and competition to children and adults with intellectual disabilities, at no cost to the athlete or their caregiver, as a means to achieve physical fitness, self-esteem, socialization skills, and the life skills necessary to be a productive, respected and contributing members of their communities. Founded by the late Eunice Kennedy Shriver, Special Olympics is the world’s largest program of sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, serving 3.7 million people in more than 170 countries. In Florida, 25,000 athletes train and compete year round, in 20 different team and individual sports of their choice. Founded in 1972, Special Olympics Florida is a certified 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organization funded solely through the generosity of individuals, businesses and civic groups. This support allows Special Olympics to never charge the athlete or their families a fee for participation.

At The Guest House we base our program on delving into the underlying issues that create the coping mechanisms of addiction and the trauma reactivity that is seen in anxiety, relationship dysfunction and somatic issues. We believe that if you understand what came before, everything else can be stabilized and true progress can be made. We believe in a multidimensional and individualized approach to treatment. Each one of our guests has a different story and history that created the circumstances that brings them to treatment. As a result, each of our guests require an individualized plan for their care. We use many different therapeutic modalities and discovering which is most effective for each guest and utilizing those approaches to help our clientele grow and heal. Our model can best be described as an attachment model, our motto is "love them back to health"​. We believe in a holistic approach healing the body with nutrition and exercise, the mind with therapy and the spirit with community and self discovery.

Mission Statement The purpose of the Early Learning Coalition of Pasco and Hernando Counties, Inc. is to prepare children in our counties to enter and succeed in school. The Coalition helps low to moderate income families receive assistance through the School Readiness (subsidized child care) program. Eligible families may earn up to 150 percent of the Federal Poverty Guidelines and must be either working or in school full-time. The Coalition also enrolls children in the Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) program, free for every Florida 4 year old who is 4 years of age on or before September 1st of the program year. The Coalition also offers free professional development opportunities for child care providers and early intervention services for children. Central Florida Cares Health System, Inc. (CFCHS) is a not-for-profit organization contracted by the Florida Department of Children and Families to oversee state-funded mental health and substance abuse treatment services in Circuits 9 and 18 (Brevard, Orange, Osceola, and Seminole counties). As a managing entity we are a behavioral health administrative and management organization, and our primary focus is to promote a comprehensive, seamless system of recovery and resiliency to those individuals in our community who are in need of these services.

The purpose of the Early Learning Coalition of Seminole (ELC), now in its 19th year, is to invest in the future of our community, by investing in the lives of our children through the provision of quality early education and child care. By providing families with financial assistance for child care, we help to educate the next generation, which translates to higher employment and self-sufficiency for Seminole County families. In addition, we help all families with locating child care providers based on their needs, preference and available resources. We also offer developmental screenings to make sure children are reaching appropriate milestones as well as free vision and hearing screenings for children aged 0-4. Research has proven that early childhood education is essential for a child’s development of critical skills and provides a foundation for future success. We aim to improve opportunity and reduce stress on parents by offering affordable child care, which allows them to better contribute to the community while strengthening the life trajectory of the next generation. Through our partnerships with local agencies, we are able to fulfill our purpose by providing additional early intervention services such as trainings and evaluations for child care teachers and guidance for caregivers on locating early intervention resources. Providing these resources helps to alleviate the need for more expensive interventions later in a child’s life and save taxpayer dollars while boosting the local economy. Friends of Children and Families, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for at-risk children and their families, and give them the opportunity to develop into well-adjusted and productive members of society. Friends of Children and Families, Inc. was founded in 1984, as a supporting organization, which helped CHARLEE Family Care Services provide care and housing for foster children in Orange, Seminole, Polk and Osceola County for almost 25 years. In 2008, CHARLEE Family Care Services ceased operations; at that time the Board Of Directors for Friends of Children and Families made the decision to continue the mission of serving the children of Central Florida. FRIENDS’ philosophy is based on the belief that if children are provided with love, a sense of security, structure and positive opportunities for growing in a family and community atmosphere, then healthy development will occur. FRIENDS strives to provide that kind of environment by providing the necessary services, support, and care for children in need. The primary goals of FRIENDS are to provide an environment that is conducive to the growth and safety of our children, enhance the lives of children who have been diagnosed with emotional and behavioral disturbances, and offer the needed services and programs which develop the cognitive and social skills of the children.

The Sharing Center has been preventing homelessness and hunger since 1986. Last year, 17,000 neighbors received a hand up during the toughest times of their lives. By sharing food, providing emergency financial assistance and essential resources such as bus passes to gain steady employment, brand new shoes for a child in need, or a warm shower and free laundry service - we are helping to create respite and comfort for those on the brink of hunger and homelessness. Our Oasis is the only resource drop-in facility in Seminole County for our homeless neighbors to find community and support during their journey. Roughly 98% of our workforce are volunteers; serving over 42,000 hours to help fulfill our mission in our Distribution Center, Pantry, and Thrift Stores. 90% of every donation or purchase supports our neighbors in need.
