A creative entrepreneur and a passionate baker crafted a treat unlike any other, the traditional madeleine, a moist and delicate little cake with a fresh, unforgettable taste. It all started with family – for more than 98 years, Evergood Fine Foods has been proudly family owned and operated. In the early 1900s, Jacob Rauscher, a master sausage maker, moved his family to the United States from their home of Bavaria. In 1926, the Rauscher family opened the “Evergood Pork Store” – a traditional European delicatessen – in the Mission District of San Francisco. With only one smoke house, the Rauscher family manufactured a wide variety of old world German style sausages ranging from Knockwurst to Kielbasa, and more. By the 1950s, the popularity of Evergood sausages had grown beyond their neighborhood. As demand for these tasty sausages increased, Jacob’s son, Walter, expanded the business by bringing in two more sausage makers, George Ehrlich and Harlan Miller. A few years later, Rauscher, Ehrlich, and Miller opened a manufacturing facility in the Bayview District of San Francisco, where they still operate to this day. Today, Harlan Miller and his two sons proudly carry on the family tradition of the Evergood brand, making the finest sausages – from our family to yours.

Here at Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Company, we believe that great cheese is made in the pastures. It's made in the natural grasses and cool ocean breezes on our coastal, Northern California farm. It's made by healthy, pampered and well-fed cows that we raise individually from birth. It's made by hand, by artisan craftspeople. It’s made for the people that love and appreciate great tasting food. It’s a journey that started back in 1904, when our Great Grandfather Tobias Giacomini left Northern Italy to pursue his vision of farming the fabled, fertile lands of California. Fast forward to 1959 when our parents, Bob and Dean, purchased our dairy farm on Tomales Bay and started making milk to sell to the local creamery. By the mid-1990’s, our father had grown the herd to over 500 cows and the farm established a reputation for producing the very highest quality milk. However, a dairy of that size on our property of 720 acres was just too big, causing too much stress on the land environmentally, on our limited natural resources and on the small staff working the farm. But there’s an expression here in the Giacomini family that says, when life gives you four daughters, make cheese. And so, after pursuing various business careers, we came back to help reduce the size of the dairy and transition the business into an artisan farmstead cheesemaking facility. In August of 2000 the first wheels of Original Blue, California’s only classic style blue cheese, were introduced to Bay Area consumers, adding to a family legacy of farming that dates back well over 100 years. Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Company is our way of carrying on our family heritage, honoring the land we love so much, celebrating our passion for farm fresh food, and sharing it all with the people we consider our extended family – cheese lovers all across the country who can now experience the incredible flavors created from our small, family-run dairy farm.

Morton Gothelf, the founder of Morton & Bassett Spices, has always been a great cook and loves to entertain friends. He was passionate about finding just the right ingredients to create the perfect combination of flavors. In searching for superior ingredients, he found that the best quality spices were difficult to obtain in a typical grocery or gourmet store. Morton began to find sources for the best spices and then started Morton & Bassett Spices in 1986, hoping to fill this niche. The combination of great ingredients, good value and clear bottles that showcased the product was a hit. Since 1986 the business has grown quickly thanks to the growing numbers of loyal Morton & Bassett customers.

Dandelion Chocolate is a bean-to-bar chocolate factory that began in the Mission District of San Francisco. In early 2010, we opened our doors on Valencia Street after sharing our love of small-batch, single-origin chocolate with our friends and family for years. We source all of our cocoa beans ourselves and travel to origin to forge a mutually-beneficial relationship with global partners who grow and ferment cacao. We then roast, crack, sort, winnow, grind, refine, and temper small batches of beans, and then mold and package each bar. By sourcing high quality cocoa beans and carefully crafting them, we try to bring out the individual flavors and nuances of each bean. As of 2022, we have 3 locations in San Francisco and one in Las Vegas. We produce out chocolate in our factory on 16th Street in San Francisco. In addition, our 16th Street factory is also home to our own pastry kitchen and Bloom chocolate salon. We are proud to be a part of several locations of Dandelion Chocolate Japan, and we offer various pop-up cafes from time to time. In addition to making our own chocolate bars, ground chocolate, and cocoa nibs, we stock our shelves with bonbons and confections we make with collaborators we admire.
