Since the beginning of the year, Google has been methodically eliminating some of the famous campus perks that, when initially introduced, helped usher in the new office culture that has largely defined major tech corporations and beyond ever since.
First they eliminated on-site massage therapists, reduced fitness classes and other coached activities, and limited the number of laptop replacements per employee. Next, Google reduced operating hours for campus cafes and micro kitchen supplies.
Now Google has gone after their employees' snack fixes, as well - eliminating dried mango, maui onion chips, muffins, and M&Ms.
For the sake of office snack pantries everywhere, let's hope these trends don’t have nearly the reach and social influence that Google typically wields.
