Famously Generous Perks and Benefits Continue Disappearing From Tech World

We have reported about the disappearing work perks associated with the tech industry including Google’s snack clawback, but it appears more significant benefits may now be on the chopping block. 

According to Business Insider, many tech companies feel they have leverage over their workers as a result of the waves of tech layoffs that have been flowing through the industry, leading to a couple hundred thousand cuts so far in 2023 alone.

That said, while tech employees may be willing to abide reduced hours at the campus coffee shop and the loss of other relatively insignificant perks, there are some benefits that are far more likely to cause significant pushback, including retirement contribution matching, and health-related benefits, especially when expensive medication and or fertility treatments are on the line.
