President Biden’s new budget proposal, which he will send to Congress for approval, includes significant expenditures to expand sick days and parental leave for employees as well as improving early childcare and early education options in the US.

In addition to increasing funding for existing federal programs like the Head Start program, the proposed budget includes 225 million to increase sick days and parental leave, 200 million to support expanded pre-school access for 3 and 4 year-old children, and 225 million for a national childcare program that includes training opportunities and professional development for workers in the childcare field.
