Roughly 67,000 people were polled by Gallup in 2022. The research revealed that only 32% of workers are engaged in their current job, down from 36% in 2020.
Gallup reported disengagement to be most prevalent in “remote-ready onsite workers”—those employees who come to the office but could complete their work from home.
Jim Harter, the chief workplace scientist at Gallup, explained actively disengaged employees can bring down overall team morale.
The prioritization of mental wellness and resolving the disconnect between employees and their employer can help relieve the overall stress causing disengagement.
