Mike Stevens and Dave Engbers both had steady jobs when they decided to chase their dreams and open a brewery–which meant writing a business plan, quitting their jobs, and taking out giant loans. They figured if you’re going to live life, you ought to live it hard, without regrets. After some initial challenges, due to making balanced but unremarkable beers, we were on the verge of bankruptcy. Then, the original Founders team decided to brew the kind of beer that they liked to drink: complex, in-your-face ales, with huge aromatics, bigger body, and tons of flavor. The Founders Family has grown around a simple statement: “We don’t brew beer for the masses. Instead, our beers are crafted for a chosen few, a small cadre of renegades and rebels who enjoy a beer that pushes the limits of what is commonly accepted as taste. In short, we make beer for people like us.” We have been lucky to evolve into one of the highest recognized breweries in the United States. In 2011, Ratebeer.com ranked us as the 2nd best brewery in the world (up from 4th best in 2010), and we have several beers listed in the top 100 beers on Beeradvocate.com. We were the 2nd fastest growing brewery in the U.S. in 2009, the winner of 4 medals at the 2010 World Beer Cup, and the winner of 2 medals at the 2010 Great American Beer Festival. New Holland exists to enhance our customers quality of life by providing the most remarkable experience possible. We strive to discover and empower an artistic approach in all aspects of our craft. Established in 1996, NHBC has grown from a scrappy two-man start-up to a thriving regional microbrewery, recognized for its creativity and artistry. We are very proud of our accomplishments thus far, and believe in earning our place in the brewing industry and in our customer’s hearts and minds everyday. All of our beer is brewed in Holland, Michigan at one of our two locations. We brew, cellar and package the main brands for distribution at our production facility on the north-side of Holland, at 690 Commerce Court. In response to our considerable growth, we opened the new brewery in October of 2006, replacing the original headquarters. We also brew beer and distill spirits in our pub. The pub is a great place for us to explore new ideas, meet our customers in a comfortable setting and provide a place of community for all who visit. The beers made here are typically special brews that rarely see their way outside of the friendly confines of our pub. In 2007, we brewed and shipped just over 7,400 barrels of beer. Two Brothers Brewing Company was founded by Jim and Jason Ebel in late 1996. The business was envisioned by the brothers based on their entry into entrepreneurship with The Brewer’s Coop, a retail store catering to home beer and wine making. In 1992 The Brewer’s Coop opened its doors in Naperville, IL selling retail ingredients and equipment for the homebrewing community. The more they were surrounded by brewing, the more passionate they became about opening their own microbrewery. In early 1996 they decided to take the plunge and started writing a business plan. Several months later their dream became reality. In 1998 they installed their first bottling line, an 8-head bottling line which had a capacity of about 16 bottles per minute. Due to increased sales and demand, Two Brothers replaced their 8 head bottle filler in 2003, with a state of the art 20 head machine that has a capacity of 150 bottles per minute. In November of 2007 Two Brothers moved into a new 40,000 square foot facility. When they moved, they took the opportunity to install a new 50 barrel brewing system and added 3000 barrels of fermentation space. By April of 2008, they had reached capacity in the new brewery and went through another expansion. These expansions seem to be ongoing endeavors, with the brothers adding fermentation capacity every year. 2013 included more big expansions, including the installation of a new 48-head bottle filler capable of filling 300 bottles per minute. Two Brothers Brewing Company is proud of the fact that since inception we’ve remained 100% family owned. Two Brothers’ “Whole family of great beers” are currently available in Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, New York, Ohio & Pennsylvania.
