Nestled in the historic town of Bedford, Virginia, Bedford Weaving has been a staple in the community for many years. After starting as a silk weaving mill in the 1930s, Belding-Hemingway, one of the oldest textile companies founded in this country, purchased the company. Belding-Hemingway continued to operate until Mr. Garbarini purchased the business in 1982 and the company has continued to see success and growth through subsequent generations of the Garbarini family. Belding-Hemingway played an important role in the manufacturing of thread for parachutes during WWII1.
