CENTRAL WILLAMETTE CREDIT UNION
CENTRAL WILLAMETTE CREDIT UNION
Albany, Oregon
100-499 employees
History Our story begins on October 5, 1955, at a mass meeting held under the sponsorship of Local 1141 when initial steps were taken to form a credit union for government employees in Linn County. Employees from the U.S. Bureau of Mines and the Albany and Lebanon post offices were also in attendance. On November 15, 1955, Linn Government Employees Credit Union was chartered as a state-chartered credit union. This marked the beginning of an innovative organization that puts people ahead of profits. Central Willamette Today While there has been tremendous growth and much advancement since 1955, Central Willamette continues to honor the tradition of “People Helping People”. As a member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative, our focus remains steadfast on our members, working together to advocate for their needs and provide the financial tools to improve their economic well-being. CASHCO FINANCIAL SERVICES, INC.
CASHCO FINANCIAL SERVICES, INC.
Tigard, Oregon
25-49 employees
CashCo opened with money borrowed from credit cards and family in a double wide trailer with no running water on January 2, 1989. We thought we had a really cool idea for our business but found out getting it off the ground was not as easy as we imagined. We made some costly, near-fatal mistakes as we figured things out but we also did something totally right. We developed a passion for our customers and set about creating a company that puts people and their dreams first. CashCo is not your typical consumer finance company. We treat our customers with the respect and dignity they deserve. Our credit decisions are not made by computers, but by thinking, feeling, and caring professionals. We feel privileged to offer a vital service to our community.
