OUR STORY Community Home Trust delivers housing affordability to diverse populations in partnership with our communities. Community Home Trust sold its first home in June 2000. Today, there are more than 334 permanently affordable homes in Chapel Hill and Carrboro. Our homeowners include nurses, university employees, teachers and others, who serve our community but otherwise could not afford to own a home here. OUR SERVICES Sales: As a nonprofit, licensed real estate firm, we have brokers on staff that provide expertise in buying and selling the affordable homes in our inventory. We provide marketing services as well as step-by-step support to get you from the contract signing to the closing table. We do not charge commission for this service. Property Management: We have staff dedicated to helping our homeowners choose a vendor to deal with repairs needed on their homes or answer questions they may have. We manage four HOA’s, for a total of 62 properties. We work closely with the HOA boards to deal with homeowner issues, governance issues, and routine and capital maintenance repairs. Education: We provide ongoing education related to our program requirements, financial counseling, homebuyer education, and home maintenance. All classes are taught by certified and trained staff and are offered at no cost to the community. Advocacy: We use our affordable housing experience and expertise to address affordable housing issues on the local, state, and national level. As a leader in the industry, we often provide consulting services to other non-profits and municipalities looking to expand affordable housing in their community.
