It all began in the early ’80s when a group of Coca-Cola bottlers wanted to purchase a key raw material, polyethylene terephthalate (PET) packaging, at a lower cost. They envisioned using technology and innovative processes to enhance and create better packaging. This common thread united the group, and in 1982 Southeastern Container, Inc. (SEC) was founded as a cooperative, allowing the members to purchase products at cost. Our first plant, which included injection molding and blow molding, opened in 1982 in Enka, NC.
