Celebrating life since 1979, Transitions LifeCare was founded as Hospice of Wake County in 1979 and provides physical, emotional and spiritual care to those living with an advanced illness, their caregivers and those who have lost a loved one. Our services include hospice care, palliative care, pediatric hospice and palliative care, caregiver support, and grief counseling. Services are provided regardless of age, race, religion or financial circumstances. Our service area includes eastern Chatham, Durham, Franklin, Harnett, Johnston, Orange, Granville, and Wake counties. Guided by community-based boards of directors and supported by a dedicated professional staff, our goal is to provide compassionate hospice care that allows patients to enjoy every moment of their lives to the fullest.

With USTC, domestic and global customers can buy the finest, most compliant and sustainable flue-cured tobacco in the world. As a full service leaf supplier, USTC owns its own processing plant in Timberlake, NC and leaf storage facility in Fuquay-Varina, NC. Goodwill Industries of Eastern North Carolina, Inc. (GIENC®) continues to be a leader in an era of change by providing innovative employment, educational, and life enrichment opportunities to local and regional communities throughout eastern North Carolina. Based in Durham, North Carolina, GIENC is affiliated with Goodwill Industries International, a network of 155 autonomous community-based organizations across the United States and Canada. GIENC provides over 300 employment opportunities within its 42 Employment Program Centers. Proceeds from Goodwill donation centers and stores fund grants given to community partners, aid in combating food insecurity and homelessness, provide free educational resources and school kits, and support employment program initiatives.

Twin Lakes began as a legacy of the family of Wade G. and Agnes Coble. The local church formed Lutheran Retirement Ministries of Alamance County, NC and began the mission which became Twin Lakes Community. Twin Lakes first opened its doors in April 1983 with Coble Healthcare, three apartment buildings and ten cottages. By all measures our mission has been successful. Twin Lakes has served thousands of residents and family members from throughout the United States and has grown to include a campus of over 500 independent living residents, in addition to our residents in other levels of care. Twin Lakes encompasses Independent Living, Assisted Living, Healthcare and Rehabilitation and Memory Care residences. Twin Lakes Community is designated by the North Carolina Department of Insurance as a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC). We are fully accredited by the Commission of Rehabilitation Facilities- Continuing Care Accreditation Commission (CARF-CCAC). We have two 5-star rated skilled nursing facilities and our bonds are rated A- by Fitch.

We invite you to create your own captivating experience each time you visit. Admission to the Museum’s permanent collection and Museum Park is free. There is a charge for some special exhibitions and programs, such as concerts, films, classes, and performances.
