The Watershed Agricultural Council partners with hundreds of farm and forest landowners in the New York City Watershed region to ensure their lands stay within a working context. Keeping over 2,000 miles of Watershed lands productive and part of a growing economy is no easy task. Add in the challenge of delivering over one billion gallons of fresh, clean drinking water to nine million New Yorkers each day. Together with Watershed landowners and various partnering agencies, the Council achieves a two-part solution to a growing need: protecting clean water by ensuring working landscapes in agriculture and forestry. These working landscapes, in turn, provide pure food raised on family farms and strong local economies based on thriving farm operations and wood businesses based on healthy forests. All three are a direct result of innovative approaches in Watershed management. The Council uses: • Whole Farms Plans, • Forest Management Plans, • Conservation Easements and • Economic Initiatives to help farmers, forest professionals and private landholders address water pollution concerns on properties located in the Croton and Catskill/Delaware Watersheds.

ACE was created by the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964 as part of a national network of federally funded Community Action Agencies (CAA’s) to administer various programs on the community level that assist people of low-income out-of-poverty conditions. Incorporated in 1965, ACE began with a budget of $430,000 as a grantee for the federal Head Start Program maintaining fiscal and administrative responsibility for services in Lackawanna, Pike, Susquehanna, and Wayne Counties. ACE is a Community Action Agency authorized to administer funds received from federal, state, local, or private funding entities to assess, design, operate, finance, and oversee anti-poverty programs. ACE is intended to promote self-sufficiency and depends heavily on volunteer work, especially from the low-income community. ACE's mission statement is to empower people with the skills needed to become self-sufficient and enhance their lives through education, training, life skills, and support services. Over the past 50 years, ACE has developed a broad range of additional programs and services that promote school readiness for children and families and helps families struggling with the effects of poverty. These programs range from employment, education, income management, transportation, workforce initiatives, veterans support services, weatherization, crisis and emergency food assistance, to parenting support, childcare, and early learning programs. Delaware Opportunities Inc. was established in 1965 under provisions of the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964, as a Community Action Agency. Delaware Opportunities is a not-for-profit, private corporation. Although the agency contracts with Delaware County and other local municipalities, the agency is not a part of local government. It is governed by a Board of Directors, and has wide powers, designed to improve living conditions in Delaware County. The mission of the agency is to help people achieve self sufficiency and attain a better quality of life.

The NEPA Alliance, a regional community and economic development agency, serves the seven counties of Northeastern Pennsylvania including Carbon, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Pike, Schuylkill and Wayne. NEPA Alliance services include Business Financing, Government Contracting Assistance, International Trade Assistance, Non Profit Assistance, Transportation Planning, Research and Information, and Local Government Services. The Hudson Valley Farm Hub is a non-profit center for resilient agriculture located on 1,500 acres of prime farmland in Hurley, NY. We provide professional farmer training, host and support agricultural research, demonstrate new farm technologies, and serve as an educational resource for advances in food and farming.

The Commission on Economic Opportunity for the Greater Capital Region (CEO) is an “umbrella” agency that provides the overall leadership, policy guidance, coordination, and support necessary to successfully deliver a wide range of services. The programs at CEO are designed to empower individuals and families to build self-sufficiency in all life areas and rise out of poverty. CEO works in partnership with the individuals, families, and the larger community to improve the quality of life for all community members by addressing their social, emotional, economic and educational needs.

Founded in 1950 as Orange County Cerebral Palsy Assocation, Inspire was established to provide services to children with cerebral palsy living in Orange County. As the needs of our community have grown and changed, Inspire has expanded programs to benefit children and adults with a wide variety of disabilities and challenges. Inspire specializes in early childhood development, as well as outpatient rehabilitation and family support services for youth and adults. Our trained, professional and caring staff are available to answer all of your questions. Whether its a question about early childhood development or special education preschool, a need for evaluation or therapy services, our staff is ready to inspire our students, patients and clients to reach their full potential.

The Institute is licensed according to the standards set by the Office of Children & Youth and Office of Developmental Programs of the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare. We are a private, non-profit tax-exempt corporation organized in 1975 under the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Our charter promotes the psychological, social, and educational well-being of the children and adults the agency serves.
