Olympia Fencing Center was founded in 2012, and is privately owned by Daniel and Iulia Hondor.
Our main objective is to promote and grow the Olympic sport of fencing, a sport for everyone, across ages and body types.
We actively encourage and support all levels of fencing, from beginner/recreational to highly competitive, collegiate, and Olympic fencing.
Holder of some of the best results in the country, and prime feeder to the NCAA and Ivy leagues, Olympia is also a proud promoter of gender diversity, equity, and inclusion.
We are firmly anchored in the values of equal opportunity in the workplace and proudly stand against racism and support public solutions that promote racial equity in all aspects of human affairs, as well as other organizations working to eradicate racism from our society.
Our company strongly believes that working across multiple cultures translates into better performance.
Our second location opened in January 2023, in Newton, MA, offering the same great opportunities to the families in the area as its sister Cambridge location.
Both Cambridge and Newton locations boast over 6500 SF, equipped with state-of-the-art electrical fencing equipment, month-to-month memberships, private lessons, summer camps, and clinics for all levels.
With over 25 years of teaching experience Olympia’s Director and Founder, Daniel Hondor was a member of the Romanian National Epee Team 12 years in a row, winning numerous individual and team titles during the early ’80s. He’s proud to belong to one of the most successful Romanian fencing generations, who produced numerous well-known coaches worldwide, and currently training and producing numerous world and Olympic champions.
Olympia’s foreign coaches are O1 Visa holders, for people proving extraordinary ability in their field, and they all share our company’s philosophy: We Raise Champions!
If you're looking for the best training available to reach your best abilities, Olympia is the place to be!
