The Medical Association of the State of Alabama serves, leads and unites physicians with the highest quality of health care for Alabama's citizens through advocacy, information and education. With more than 7,000 members, the Medical Association is the oldest, largest and most effective organization representing physicians and medicine in Alabama. And, with a 63 percent market share, the Medical Association has the highest concentration of physician participation in the Southeast. Protecting patient safety while minimizing physicians’ exposure to liability are top priorities. But we are only as strong as our member physicians. The Medical Association has defeated frivolous lawsuit legislation and other bills to place standards of care into state law. We have successfully protected injured workers’ access to medical care and are working with our Congressional Delegation to find solutions to the many problems with the Affordable Care Act, to stop ICD-10, and the onslaught of government mandates on physicians, and free you to do what you do best – treat patients! The Medical Association has an extensive catalog of educational courses during the year, and as an association member, registration for Annual Session is free, as well as your CME during the conference.
