From our beginnings in 1906 as a Christian home for the elderly to a flourishing nonprofit organization with a continuum of care options for older adults, Lyngblomsten remains true to its Christian mission of compassionate care and innovative services for older adults. In July 2023, we opened our second campus: Lyngblomsten at Lino Lakes, which includes rental townhomes, independent apartments, assisted living, and memory care. On our St. Paul campus, Lyngblomsten offers independent housing with services, assisted living, short-term rehabilitative care and long-term healthcare. Lyngblomsten Community Services offers a variety of outreach programs for seniors living in their homes or apartments. Hiawatha Homes is made up of two 501(c)3 non-profit organizations: Hiawatha Homes, Inc. and Hiawatha Homes Foundation. Hiawatha Homes supports approximately 120 children and adults in Olmsted County with developmental disabilities, physical health needs, brain injury, specialized medical needs, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and emotional and behavioral health needs. Since opening in 1976, Hiawatha Homes has expanded to respond to the needs of the community. Currently, services include supporting individuals in twenty-one residential-based homes, respite care, family support services, and in-home support. Today, individuals benefit from advocacy, community involvement, nursing and support therapies, and social and recreational activities.
