•Responsible for tasks such as gathering supplies, equipment, instruments, positioning devices for cases•Effectively communicates with patients, teammates, and physicians to ensure continuity of care•Delivers safe patient care under the direction of the surgeon and anesthesiologist•Functions as a team member during times of stress and crisis situations•Accurately and legibly documents in the medical record •Follows AORN standards for care of the perioperative patient•Assist in positioning patients for procedure(s) to be performed•Count and verify instruments and sponges with surgical technologist that are to be used during procedure(s)
