BVLH has 180 full and part-time employees from 23 different area communities and is the second largest employer in Thayer County, Nebraska. We are financially supported by operations and by the fundraising efforts of our Foundation for Blue Valley Lutheran Homes, which just played a major part in raising funds for our $6.4 million 2009 assisted living expansion and is currently focusing its efforts on the nursing home’s spa rooms and lobby enhancements. Our unique campus arrangement with the hospital makes our continuum of care an attractive option. We are proud of each of our facilities and are known for our great care. Foster Care Services Epworth Village serves children and families who have experienced a crisis situation within their own home, and need temporary assistance. Foster parents help teach and provide hope and healing for these families. When foster parents choose Epworth Village’s services, they become a part of our professional team that works to repair lives. In-Home Safety Services Epworth Village's In-Home services are utilized when a family member is allegedly abused or neglected or when a child’s behavior has escalated to an unsafe level, and protection and a safety plan are needed. Out-Patient Therapy Services Epworth Village provides therapeutic outpatient services for families and children.Our therapists are skilled in using a variety of therapeutic strategies, and work hand-in-hand with other community-based services to provide education and support to clients. The Epworth Village Learning Center (EVLC) The EVLC is a Rule 18 Interim school for either students grades 6-12 who have been removed from their traditional school due to emotional and/or behavioral issues.
