The Greater Chicago Food Depository, Chicago’s food bank, believes a healthy community starts with food. We are at the center of a network of more than 800 partner organizations and programs – food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, mobile distributions and other partners – working to bring food, dignity and hope to our neighbors across Chicago and Cook County. The Food Depository addresses the root causes of hunger with job training, advocacy and other innovative solutions. We are a proud member of Feeding America – the national network of food banks. Little Friends is a private, non-profit organization empowering children, adults and families with autism and other developmental disabilities. Little Friends operates a number of programs including three alternative schools, family support and consultation services, vocational training, community-based residential services and the nationally-recognized Little Friends Center for Autism.

Step By Step Inc. has been providing quality Early Care & Education programs for children 6 weeks to 11 years old since 1993. Our mission is to provide every child an opportunity to grow and learn in a warm and loving environment. Our six programs are fully licensed as Day Care Centers by the Illinois Dept. of Children and Family Services. Our Alton and Brighton locations offer a part-day Illinois State Board of Education Pre-K program for eligible children. All of our centers also provide a USDA approved food program for all children enrolled.

Our extensive services can provide support for the entire family. We create an environment in which our participants can flourish, strive for independence and contribute to community life. Our knowledgeable staff provides care givers with answers and guidance to supportive services that can benefit the whole family. Our History CSS was founded in 1981 by a devoted group of parents, educators and community leaders. We were established on the premise that all individuals deserve an optimal chance to live with independence, self-esteem, and personal fulfillment. This fundamental belief continues today as we have grown to now serve individuals across more than 50 communities in west suburban Cook and western DuPage counties. Our Philosophy CSS fosters a progressive, forward-thinking environment. Conversations and feedback from our participants and their families have shaped the high quality, relevant programing we offer today. Our goal is to support individuals to improve independence, develop self-esteem and become involved in their communities. All of our services are person-centered and focused on individual choices.
