In June of 1975, Donnie Sargent started Sargent Metal Fabricators. Donnie’s dad, JD Sargent came shortly after that. They equipped their shop with select machines and a desire to become a quality driven metal fabrication shop. Many of their initial jobs were in the textile industry. Sargent continued to grow over the years and made many products that included armored trucks and fire trucks. Sargent bought its first CNC laser punch machine in the early 1990s. Today, Sargent continues to invest by buying machines with the latest technology available, to better serve their customers. In 2003, Sargent moved from its Standridge Road location to its present location at Airport Road in Anderson, SC. It is an 80,000 square-foot facility located on a 21-acre campus.
