PLUMBING DISTRIBUTORS INC
Lawrenceville, Georgia

In 1973, PDI was founded by Glad Mealor and Ronald Pratt in Lawrenceville, GA, with just four employees, including Glad’s son, Sid. They operated out of a 3,000 sq ft warehouse and focused only on plumbing products. Over the last 47 years, PDI has grown from its humble beginnings into a large wholesale distribution company that employs over 280 employees in three states. In the mid-1980’s, with the addition of their first Kitchen & Bath Showroom, PDI transitioned from solely a plumbing distributor into the retail showroom business. Through the 1980’s and 1990’s, PDI experienced incredible growth and expanded their presence in Georgia. Lighting was added to the product mix in 2001 and has proven to be a natural complement to the plumbing business. By the end of 2010, PDI operated six branches and five showrooms across the state. In the mid-2010’s, with its success in the Georgia market and increasing business in adjoining states, PDI expanded into Tennessee and South Carolina. In 2016, PDI partnered with Kohler and opened the Southeast’s first Kohler Signature Store in Atlanta. Following that successful venture, PDI opened a second Kohler Signature Store location in Alpharetta, GA, in 2018. As a company, PDI operates ten branches, five PDI Kitchen, Bath & Lighting Showrooms, and two Kohler Signature Stores, in three states. PDI proudly remains independent and family-owned. The company was founded on solid principles- honesty, integrity, hard work, and respect for others. That is how the founders lived their lives and we carry on those qualities to this day- not only with our customers but with our employees and suppliers as well.

HARBIN LUMBER COMPANY, INC.
HARBIN LUMBER COMPANY, INC.
Lavonia, Georgia
100-499 employees
Harbin Lumber Company, Inc. began operation in 1917 with two brothers, Frank Harbin Sr. and John Harbin. John Harbin left the business at an early age, and Frank Harbin, Sr. worked in the business until his death in 1950. During the Depression the company took the bold step of building a new lumber yard in Royston, GA., and it was during this time that Frank Harbin, Jr. began his training in the lumber business as a young boy. After school, one of his first jobs was to pick up nails that were dropped by the carpenters that were constructing the new building in Royston. This building still stands today on the very edge of Royston. Frank Harbin, Jr. began working full time in the lumber business in 1945 following his service in the Canadian Air Force and the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He retired in 1982 after 37 years as president of Harbin Lumber Company. Frank Harbin, Jr.'s son, Barron Harbin, began working for the company in 1972. During his tenure as president, HLC experienced tremendous growth by adding multiple locations and expanding our markets throughout Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina. Barron Harbin retired from active management after 38 years with the company. Harbin looks to the future as Barron's son, Westley Harbin, to take over the business. As we exceed our 100th year of business, we are both proud and humble to recognize that only 3% of businesses make it to the 4th generation of family ownership, and we are confident in our continued success as the next generation begins its leadership. Harbin Lumber presently serves contractors and builders in residential, commercial, multi-family, agriculture, and remodel construction throughout GA, SC and NC. We presently have full service lumber yards located in Lavonia, Eatonton, and Athens, GA, North Augusta, SC and most recently, Clinton, SC. Additionally, our Door Shop, Installation Center and Truss Plant (Load Star Structural Wood Systems) are located in Lavonia.

CME’s business model has established a solid record of success. Founded in 1994 as a US Corporation, CME Wire and Cable, Inc. is a member of Xignux, a $3.4 billion dollar international group based in Monterrey, Mexico. Xignux began operations in 1956 with the construction of the first manufacturing facility, Conductores Monterrey. However, by 1962 the 31,000 square foot building was insufficient for the rapid growth and success of the company. Therefore, with the purchase of a 62 acre plot of land, design and construction began for the new facility. On May 19, 1965 the inauguration for the new plant was celebrated. Today, Xignux operates 14 manufacturing plants and employees over 20,000 people internationally. In addition, the Xignux products are sold in more than 30 countries worldwide. CME is proud to be a pivotal part of the Xignux family. Since 2008, during the global financial crisis, each of the three divisions of CME has shown its strength in their market by consistently presenting significant increases to the company’s sales revenue.
