Children First Inc. holds the distinction of being a four-time Head Start “Program of Excellence.” Our agency is one of two to received this coveted designation four consecutive times, ranking our program in the top 1% of more than 1,800 nationwide. This designation is awarded to Head Start organizations that consistently demonstrate excellence in program management and service performance, and that continually support the achievement of robust outcomes for at-risk children birth to five years-old, pregnant women, families, and their communities. They must demonstrate financial integrity, program accountability, innovation, compliance with the Head Start Program Performance Standards and other regulations, and comprehensive quality. Senior Friendship Centers is a nonprofit organization serving older adults in four counties in Southwest Florida. We are THE safety net for close to 15,000 seniors living in our service area, providing over a half-million individual “units of service” to older adults in the areas of medical and dental services, caregiving, meals, exercise classes, lifelong learning, economic assistance, and socialization. Through state and local partnerships, we were able to improve the health of thousands of uninsured seniors on limited incomes. Tens of thousands of older adults in Southwest Florida have benefited from the Senior Friendship Centers’ programs and services since our founding in 1973 by Brother William Geenen, a member of the Congregation of the Holy Cross Order of Notre Dame University (C.S.C.). The Area Agency on Aging of Pasco-Pinellas, Inc. (AAAPP) is a 501(c)(3) private non-profit agency serving seniors and their caregivers in Pasco and Pinellas counties in Florida since 1974. Designated by the Department of Elder Affairs as the Area Agency on Aging for Planning and Service (PSA) Area 5, the agency’s focus is on funding, advocacy, services and programs for seniors in the two-county area of west central Florida. The Area Agency on Aging of Pasco-Pinellas, Inc. traces its origins to 1974, when the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council (TBRPC) assumed authority for the first Area Agency on Aging to cover Pasco and Pinellas counties. From 1974 until 2000, the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council operated as the designated Area Agency on Aging for Planning & Service Area (PSA) 5. In the fall of 2000, the Area Agency on Aging separated from TBRPC and became a 501(c)(3) non-profit agency. Currently, the AAAPP is one of eleven Area Agencies on Aging in Florida, and there are over 600 nationwide. Each AAA is responsible for administering a network of community and in-home services for older persons within their assigned PSA. Our Mission: Advocate, educate and serve seniors and their caregivers in partnership with the community.

SPARCC's mission is to stop domestic and sexual violence in our communities. Safe Place and Rape Crisis Center, Inc. (SPARCC) was formed as a non-profit agency in 1979. SPARCC is the only state-certified center for domestic violence and sexual assault services for Sarasota and DeSoto Counties. All of SPARCC’s services are free and confidential. In addition to serving victims, SPARCC is actively engaged in promoting social change through community awareness and education, in an effort to prevent such violence in the future. SPARCC serves its clients through an Outreach Center in downtown Sarasota, satellite offices in south Sarasota and DeSoto Counties, a shelter operating 24 hours a day/365 days a year and at the local courthouses.

CenterPlace Health offers caring, affordable health care for residents at seven locations throughout Sarasota County. We provide a range of primary health care services and work with a host of community partners to ensure integrated care to address the whole person. We accept Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurance plans, and we use an income-based formula to offer reduced rates for those who qualify. Everyone is expected to pay something, but no one is turned away.

The mission of the Child Protection Center is the Prevention, Intervention and Treatment of Child Abuse. All of the Child Protection Center's services are provided through five distinct programs for children and families who suffer from the trauma of child abuse. These programs are: the Child Protection Team(CPT) which conducts medical examinations and forensic interviews for victims of alleged child abuse; the Sexual Abuse Treatment Program (SATP) which provides therapy for children, families and adult survivors who have suffered the trauma of sexual and physical abuse; the Personal Safety and Community Awareness Program (PSCA) which teaches children and adults the attitudes, skills and behaviors necessary to keep children safe; the Kid Kindness Program (KKP) which provides therapy for children who exhibit aggressive behavior and the Supervised Visitation Program (SVP) which facilitates court ordered visits between non-custodial parents and their children.
