Delaware Guidance Services for Children & Youth, Inc. (DGS) has been serving Delaware’s families since 1953 and is the largest not-for-profit provider of behavioral health services for children and youth in the state. We serve approximately 10,000 children and their families annually with a continuum of mental health programs offered through clinics in Wilmington, Newark, Dover, Lewes and Seaford. Accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), we are also a member of Delaware’s Division of Child Mental Health Services system. DGS mission is to “provide quality therapeutic services to children, youth, and their families to increase their social, emotional, and behavioral wellness” and its vision for Delaware is “resilient families nurturing children’s well-being.” DGS accomplishes its mission using a strength and family-based approach that seeks to understand and address the effects of trauma by building resiliency and intervening at the individual, the family and the community level. DGS delivers services in the setting that best meets each client’s needs including in the office, home, school or other community setting. DGS is the largest provider of outpatient behavioral health services to children and their families in the State of Delaware. Fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) since 1976, DGS serves over 10,000 Delaware children through over 100,000 visits each year. The families we serve come from diverse backgrounds (38% African-American, 57% Caucasian, and 5% Hispanic), over 80% receive Medicaid and approximately 90% have household incomes under $30,000.

We are Delaware’s largest provider of advocacy, support, and services for people on the spectrum and their families and caregivers. Autism Delaware has served the autism community in Delaware for 25 years. We grew from two grassroots organizations, the Autism Society of Delaware, formed in New Castle County in 1998, and the Lower Delaware Autism Foundation, formed in Sussex County in 2001. These organizations came together in 2010 to form a strong statewide organization to ensure that all people in Delaware who have autism spectrum disorder (ASD) thrive as accepted and included members of their communities.

KSI is a private, non-profit vocational rehabilitation organization that provides employment and training services to individuals with intellectual, mental, physical, and emotional disabilities who reside in Kent, Sussex, and lower New Castle Counties in Delaware. KSI’s mission is to provide person-centered supports to assist people with disabilities in the pursuit of their potential in employment and meaningful participation in their communities. In pursuing our mission, we provide a wide array of services to our program participants, including vocational training and employment, transportation to and from service locations, a nutritional services program, and adaptive living skills training. KSI as an organization believes that work, and the opportunity to contribute and grow as a person, is important to all people, especially people with disabilities. Work in our society helps to give our lives purpose and meaning. Work also allows us to learn and be successful, and to interact with people in the pursuit of common goals or outcomes. Work also allows people to earn a wage, which creates opportunities for choice, education, recreation, and socialization. In addition, work allows us a chance to discover talents and skills we never knew we had. This is what KSI does for the people we serve. KSI was founded on June 11, 1962 under the name "Golden Opportunity Center, Inc."​ The agency, located in a 500 square foot facility on Rt. 13 in Dover, served a grand total of 6 participants. The program was begun with a grant from DFRC. KSI is now in a position not only to provide rehabilitation and employability training for people with disabilities, but also employment, supported employment, job placement, door-to-door transportation, day habilitation, and nutritional services at no cost to our participants. KSI currently serves 260+ individuals annually.

The Food Bank of Delaware, a member of Feeding America, formerly America’s Second Harvest – The Nation’s Food Bank Network, is a statewide nonprofit agency whose vision is a community free of hunger. Originally founded in 1981 as the Food Conservers, Inc., the Food Bank of Delaware has provided food assistance to Delawareans at risk of hunger for more than 25 years. Our vision is a community free of hunger. We work to achieve this by: - Providing low- and no-cost food to qualified feeding programs throughout the greater Delaware region; - Informing the greater Delaware community about hunger issues and food security; - Mobilizing support for anti-hunger efforts; - Training and empowering under- and unemployed individuals to fill needed positions within the food service industry; - And developing and implementing statewide feeding programs to assist low-income families, individuals and children.

Our mission is to provide persons with disabilities the opportunity to attain their greatest potential through evaluation, training, and support on a personal level. We serve individuals with learning disabilities, developmental disabilities, hearing impairments, blindness, neuromuscular diseases, psychiatric diagnoses, traumatic brain injuries, and veterans. We believe that everyone can benefit from performing real meaningful work and getting paid for their efforts. Positive work experiences can translate into better social skills, higher self esteem and self confidence, and increased personal satisfaction. The individuals we serve learn skills that will not only help them on the job, but throughout their lives.

The Harford Center provides individualized services to adults with disabilities. Adults who attend the Harford Center are supporting in living independent, fulfilling lives.
