Western Nephrology began practice in 1968 serving Lutheran Medical Center and St. Anthony Central Hospitals. In 1973 the practice expanded to provide both inpatient and outpatient dialysis services in the West Denver Metropolitan Region. Over the next 30 years outpatient dialysis centers were developed in Boulder, Arvada, Brighton, Lakewood, Longmont, and Westminster. Western Nephrology partners with American Renal Associates as medical directors and attending physicians at 8 regional dialysis clinics as well as a home dialysis program that provides for both home hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. The practice currently includes 17 board certified nephrologists in clinics in Arvada, Lakewood, Boulder, Lafayette, Longmont and Westminster. Research Departments are housed in our Westminster and Arvada Offices. Our administrative office is located in Wheat Ridge and provides credentialing, financial support, and information systems support to the practice.

Treatment at NorthStar Transitions is trauma informed, utilizing evidenced-based, experiential, and somatic therapies. Conjunct with clinical treatment, our dedicated treatment team helps clients develop critical life skills to build confidence, resilience and independence as self-sustaining healthy individuals prepared to take on a future free of substance abuse and addiction. Our continuum of care includes a 30 day residential program for grounding skills and regulation, a day program (PHP) for resourcing and exploration, and IOP for taking a deeper inventory into the root of their addiction. Clients receive individual and family therapy on top of their group experience, as well as psychiatric attention from our Board Certified Addiction Psychiatrist and medical team. We are an MAT friendly treatment program, and are licensed by the Office of Behavioral Health and accredited by The Joint Commission. We work with insurances on an in-network basis to provide quality treatment that is accessible.

Recovery at home and in community . . . Since its inception in 1990, Windhorse Community Services, Inc., (WCS) has offered home-based treatment and recovery options to residents of Boulder, Colorado. Clients have also temporarily relocated to Boulder from around the United States to participate in our service, seeking complementary or alternative treatment to mainstream psychiatric care. WCS has provided skilled support to people in a variety of transitions, such as medication changes and withdrawal. Our services are applicable to people on a wide continuum of life experiences.
