As the official gift-receiving agency for the university, the Colorado School of Mines Foundation holds and professionally manages the Mines endowment. An independent tax-exempt entity founded in 1928 and incorporated in 1951, the foundation works to advance public understanding and philanthropic support for Mines’ unique mission. The University of Colorado Foundation is a nonprofit corporation responsible for administering private gifts made to further the University of Colorado’s mission. Although the Foundation is a separate entity from the University, the Foundation partners with the University to serve in our donors'​ best interests. We are committed to the highest standards of service and ethical conduct when it comes to managing donors’ gifts for the benefit of the University. Since 1967, the Foundation has received, invested, and distributed private gifts to the University to fund student scholarships, faculty support, academic programs, and building improvements.
