Should Utah Employers Offer Consolidated Paid Time Off Plans?

Workers who don't have unified leave arrangements frequently maintain separate plans for various purposes. Consolidated leave packages have been growing increasingly popular in recent years. Utah has 56 percent of employers that provide consolidated leave packages.

A unified leave plan, also known as a compensated time off policy, combines sick and personal days. This provides employees more options and the employer greater flexibility. At five years of service, Utah employers offer 20 days of paid leave in a consolidated plan compared to 15 vacation days after that point. The average for consolidated plans is 23 at ten years of service while the average for paid vacation is 19.

What Holidays do Utah Employers Offer?

Holidays are an important component of a leave package and will differ based on the size and sector of your employer, as well as whether you work in retail or manufacturing. Only 33% of businesses offer six or fewer paid holidays to their employees. Between 7 and 10 paid holidays are offered by 55%, while 26% offer more than 10 paid vacations. New Year's Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas are among the core holidays that may be added if they're available. It is entirely up to the discretion of the employer.
