THE EVANGELICAL CATHOLIC
THE EVANGELICAL CATHOLIC
Madison, Wisconsin
1-24 employees
Our goal is to raise up local leaders who will launch and drive movements—eventually without our help. We feel an urgency and call to work with as many Catholic parishes, campus ministries, and ecclesial bodies as possible. Most of them have no idea how to launch movements of evangelization. They don’t know how to raise up more lay people who can make disciples. They are stuck. People who continue to come to Mass have immeasurable potential. They need vision, formation, training, and tools to accomplish their mission in the world. When Catholics leave behind their passive, sporadic Mass-attending mindsets and embrace a purposeful life of discipleship, everything changes. When a parish is not just raising up more disciples, but training disciple-makers, they experience tremendous fruitfulness and growth in every dimension of their mission. The Evangelical Catholic (EC) provides leadership to local Catholic ministries to launch movements that raise up disciple-makers through expert coaches, consultants, and robust online resources. Our model is more scalable than a corps of missionaries, but not so scalable as to lose the personalized coaching that deeply equips leaders. Ministries sign contracts with the EC to engage one of our experienced ministry staff members. Our staff meets with a Point Person at their ministry at agreed-upon intervals to guide them step-by-step through the necessary formation and training to launch a movement. Throughout this process, they rely on the Reach More™ Evangelization Coaching System, an online learning management system, to deliver all the content used throughout this consulting process. The Reach More System is full of practical, transferable tools that leaders hand-on to other Catholics for use in their personal outreach.

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION LEADERSHIP ACADEMY, INC.
CHRISTIAN EDUCATION LEADERSHIP ACADEMY, INC.
Pewaukee, Wisconsin
1-24 employees
What started as a dream of Brian and Nancy Nahey, to develop an exceptional Christian leadership academy for motivated students and families, God is making a reality. Initial results are amazing, exceeding all expectations. God has blessed CELA with an incredible team of dedicated individuals who are working tirelessly to design, develop, and establish this one-of-a-kind Christian Education Leadership Academy. This team is committed to ensuring that CELA has leading-edge curriculum while developing new best practices. Through creative forward thinking we ensure the model is continually evolving, adding to the best education lessons of the 21st century to help all children achieve their maximum potential and realize their dreams and God’s purpose for them in their lives. We believe that students should receive world-class individualized instruction where they are measured through comparison to their past performance, always receiving positive reinforcement, and seeking continual improvement and growth. Parental involvement and engagement is a cornerstone of the CELA philosophy. We are implementing a feedback loop to strengthen the partnership between the parents and faculty as we collaboratively support children’s learning, leadership training, and development of Christian values. We believe that Christian values are best assimilated into a child’s character when they are a focus both at home and at school. CELA continually partners with parents, teaching children to constantly make Christ-centered choices and decisions in everything they do. CELA follows a practice of ongoing assessments of students, teachers, administrators, and curriculum, evaluating the information and making changes when we feel performance enhancements are likely.

NORTH CHICAGO COMMUNITY PARTNERS
NORTH CHICAGO COMMUNITY PARTNERS
Lake Bluff, Illinois
25-49 employees
North Chicago Community Partners (NCCP) was founded in 2008 in direct response to the lack of outside support for the academic challenges facing the children of North Chicago. In Illinois, schools in low-income communities are massively underfunded – but their students need the same supportive services as students in wealthier communities in order to succeed. In North Chicago, that kind of support is available through NCCP. For more than ten years, the organization has leveraged the resources of the broader community to provide a menu of programs and services that complement classroom instruction and enhance student learning. NCCP’s work brings together a range of people to help support its unique “community school” model. In this model, NCCP partners with schools to offer after school enrichment and extended learning opportunities for all students, support teachers, engage parents in the education of their children, and provide opportunities for family learning. NCCP also plays an invaluable role in mobilizing resources to transform public schools in North Chicago.

BERNIE'S BOOK BANK
BERNIE'S BOOK BANK
Lake Bluff, Illinois
1-24 employees
Reading is the single most important skill a child needs. Yet many children lack access to books, especially books of their own. That’s why Bernie’s Book Bank works so hard to provide free quality books to local children so they can build personal libraries. Our purpose is simple: Enable positive life experiences through children's book ownership. We envision a world where every child has equal access to books and the opportunities they inspire. In order to accomplish all of this, we source, process, and distribute eight books annually to children, ages birth through sixth grade. Bernie’s Book Bank focuses on communities where children are the least likely to have access to books of their own and delivers the age appropriate, high interest, and culturally relevant books children deserve. We believe that books and book ownership create pathways to success, so we empower children to explore new ideas, gain knowledge, and strengthen reading skills. With the support of generous volunteers and donors, Bernie’s Book Bank is transforming children’s stories. Since 2009, Bernie's Book Bank has distributed more than 23 MILLION free children's books.
