For 110 years, Wisconsin Community Services, Inc. (WCS) has served individuals who are involved in, or at risk of becoming involved in the behavioral health system and the justice system, as well as other vulnerable community members. As one of the state’s oldest and largest criminal justice and behavioral health nonprofit community-based organizations, the agency has developed an outstanding skill and competency to provide quality services that are effective, welcoming, compassionate, and responsive throughout southeast Wisconsin. We provide a continuum of support and care, enabling individuals to build skills and overcome adversity, such as substance use, mental health needs, criminal justice involvement and employment obstacles. WCS addresses the individual and systemic barriers that prevent members of our communities from leading productive and healthy lives. In 1912, when the agency began, its name was the “Society of the Friendless” as it primarily served men returning to the community from prison. From 1912 through 1918, the society was a one-person show, small, but vitally important to the many men aided on their journeys from prison to responsible citizenship. In 1941 the “Society for the Friendless” was legally incorporated as “The Wisconsin Service Association. In 1966, the agency once again changed its name. It became Wisconsin Correctional Services (WCS). Under that title, the agency grew from a staff of 10 to more than 200 by 2003 when the agency adopted its current name of Wisconsin Community Services, Inc., (WCS) reflecting, not a change in mission, but an expansion and adaptation. WCS began as a tiny effort and its impact has grown beyond what its Wisconsin founders likely ever envisioned. Today, as a 501c3 non-profit, WCS serves more than 15,000 individuals annually through more than 50 unique programs. The agency has 460 employees and a budget of almost $45,000,000.

We believe that all children should have the support they need to succeed in school and life. But for some, things like poverty, family instability, abuse and neglect threaten that support. At Lad Lake, 95% of the youth in our care come from a family in crisis unable to support them as they wish; and most suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder and serious anxiety disorders. Here in our community, Lad Lake is the emergency room of the child welfare system. We provide kids safety, individualized therapy, and skill-building for independence. Whether it's support for foster kids, mentors for troubled youth, or a safe-haven for exploited and abused girls, Lad Lake counselors cultivate stability and self-reliance for more than 1,100 kids and their families every year. For eight generations, Lad Lake has prided itself on evolving to meet tour community's most pressing needs. Our experience tells us the best way to create long-term success is through proven programs that foster healthy relationships, strengthen families, and connect youth to community resources. In this way, we can see that kids get a second chance in life, and opportunities they need to succeed.

Creative Community Living Services is non-profit organization helping individuals to establish community supports that will preserve and enhance the dignity and rights of those who rely on others while seeking their own level of independence.

Founded in 1961 by Bob Terese and Corinne Owen, Lambs Farm was created based on a simple belief: All people should be treated with dignity and respect and people with developmental disabilities can lead meaningful and productive lives. They opened The Lambs, a pet shop on State Street in downtown Chicago, to create work opportunities for people with developmental disabilities, and to demonstrate that they can do a great deal more than most people thought possible at the time. In 1965. W. Clement Stone donated what is now the 72-acre farm with a century old barn that we call home. We now serve 250 participants. Most of them live at Lambs Farm in one of our nine group homes, in our 16-unit apartment building or in our retirement residence. Some participants live in the surrounding community in single family homes owned and operated by Lambs Farm. Other participants live at home with their families but commute to Lambs Farm daily to work and take part in our many programs. Many of our people are employed in the community while many more choose to work at Lambs Farm in a wide array of jobs available to them through our businesses, work center, administration, groundskeeping and more.

La Causa, Inc. is one of the largest bilingual, multicultural agencies in Milwaukee. Core services focus on education, child abuse prevention, and social services that provide valuable assistance to vulnerable families. Programs include the Charter School, an Early Education and Care Center, Crisis Nursery and Respite Center, foster care recruitment, mental health services, and a full array of other innovative programs for people in need.

Josselyn is Community Mental Health Center offering a full range of care, including therapy, psychiatry, case management, art therapy, employment support and youth intensive programs. Josselyn’s vision of providing 𝘔𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢𝘭𝘭 includes a sliding fee scale to increase access to care.

Total Spectrum specializes in home and center based Applied Behavior Analysis therapy as well as Diagnostic, Counseling, and Speech Therapy services for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
