Social Current activates the power of the social sector by bringing together a dynamic network of human/social service organizations and partners. Leveraging the collective experience of the field and research, we energize and activate the sector and drive continuous evolution and improvement. Together with our network, Social Current amplifies the work of the social sector through collaboration, innovation, policy, and practice excellence. We offer access to intellectual capital of thousands of professionals within our network through peer groups, learning opportunities, collective advocacy, individualized consultation, tools, and resources that address the sector’s most critical challenges. Our Mission La Casa's mission is to provide opportunities for low-income individuals to achieve full social and economic participation in society, with emphasis on the Hispanic population. La Casa de Esperanza, Inc. began in 1966 as History Builders, a small, high quality childcare center, whose goal was to create a smooth transition for children living in a totally Spanish-speaking environment, to the Public School District's English speaking environment. In 2013, over 40 years later, La Casa continues to grow, with a passion for positive change. Since 1966, La Casa has expanded and now offers five fundamental programs. Our Education Programs include a thriving Early Childhood Education and School Age Education Program for the children and youth in our community. Workforce Development provides comprehensive employment assistance to low-income people seeking economic self-sufficiency. La Casa Village I and II offers affordable and private apartments to low-income seniors and disabled individuals. The Weatherization Program identifies energy waste and provides cost-effective, energy saving measures and education to low-income residential households. La Casa Clinica specializes in mental health and alcohol and drug treatment programs. La Casa de Esperanza is a community-based organization committed to providing opportunities for those within our community to achieve full social and economic participation in society, with an emphasis on the Hispanic population. La Casa helps more than 20,000 individuals and families annually through a variety of programs and services to create positive change in the community. La Casa continues to transform every individual and family it touches, fostering hope and providing opportunities for a prosperous, engaged and connected community.

ADVOCAP, a non-profit community action agency, was founded in 1966 to fight poverty within our local communities. We do this by designing and implementing programs that empower people in Fond du Lac, Green Lake and Winnebago counties to break the cycle of poverty. Individuals and families build on their strengths and participate in opportunities that will develop the knowledge and skills they need to strengthen their economic future. Our anti-poverty programs help low-income persons secure affordable housing, gain employment skills and training, start a small business and become self-employed, volunteer at schools and daycares, become actively involved in their children's learning, remain independent in their homes, and reduce the amount of home energy costs just to name a few. For over 50 years we have been helping families change their destiny.

Hunger Task Force is Milwaukee’s Free & Local food bank and Wisconsin's leading anti-hunger organization. Mission: Hunger Task Force believes that every person has a right to adequate food obtained with dignity. We work to prevent hunger and malnutrition by providing food to people in need today and by promoting social policies to achieve a hunger free community tomorrow. Our food bank delivers only healthy food--absolutely free of charge--to a network of local food pantries and meal programs in Milwaukee County. Hunger Task Force is the nation's only MyPlate food bank, distributing food that meets federal nutrition guidelines. We operate a 208-acre Farm that infuses half a million pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables into our food bank's supply annually. We run innovative programs like the Fresh Picks Mobile Market and a nationally-recognized summer meals program for kids. We advocate for strong federal nutrition programs including FoodShare, school meals, summer meals, WIC and senior nutrition programs Milwaukee is the second poorest city in the country, with a staggering 43% child poverty rate. Each month in Milwaukee County, 35,000 people receive help from food pantries and 60,000 meals are served at soup kitchens and shelters. A leader in child development, Penfield Children's Center creates a positive start in life for infants and children, many of whom have developmental delays or disabilities, by providing early education, health services and family programming. To carry out its mission, Penfield delivers research-based programs at the critical time of early brain development when physical, cognitive, language, social, and self-help skills are formed. Penfield Children’s Center is named in honor of Dr. Wilder Penfield (1891-1976), a world-renowned neurosurgeon who strongly advocated early intervention for children with developmental delays and disabilities. His quote, “never underestimate the capacity of the very young, and never, never let them down,” has been the foundation of Penfield’s mission since 1967. His knowledge and wisdom underlie our philosophy of care for infants and young children even today. Today, serving more than 1,700 children annually, Penfield offers high quality integrated services and a safe and stimulating environment for children, families and community partners to maximize early development and learning. We assess and guide those experiencing personal crisis toward resources to achieve stability; and collaborate with community partners to foster system improvement throughout Southeastern Wisconsin. Second Harvest believes that everyone in our community should have equal access to nutritious, affordable, and culturally meaningful food. Through core services of food acquisition & storage, food distribution, and FoodShare Outreach, SHFB provides people facing hunger access to enough nutritious food to thrive, serving the sixteen counties in Southern Wisconsin. Second Harvest exists to end hunger in Southwestern Wisconsin, with the belief that healthy food belongs to all. Since 1986, Second Harvest has worked with a network of over 300 food distribution partners to achieve the goals of nutrition security and food equity for all.

Grandma’s House is a family-owned, 5-star, NAEYC-accredited child care center with locations in Wauwatosa, Brookfield, and Hartland. Our year-round programs include those for Infants & Toddlers, Two Year Olds, and Preschool through 5th Grade. Since 1983, our learn-through-play approach has been providing families with quality care and support. We believe that when children are immersed in a supportive, play-rich environment, their social, cognitive, and emotional skills develop naturally. Our highly qualified teachers place an emphasis on caring for each child’s individual needs while pursuing the interests of the class through creative lesson plans and activities. Our mission is to transform lives impacted by domestic violence. Sojourner is the largest nonprofit provider of domestic violence prevention and intervention services in Wisconsin, serving more than 11,000 clients each year. Sojourner provides an array of support aimed at helping families affected by domestic violence achieve safety, justice and well-being. Our primary goals are to ensure the safety of victims of family violence and provide a pathway out of violence for victims and abusers through opportunities to make positive and lasting changes for themselves and their children. Options for Community Living, Inc. is a community based not-for-profit organization established in 1982 to serve Long Islanders in need. Through housing programs and case management services, we prepare participants for the demands of community life; promote housing permanency; and foster individual health, safety, and welfare. Our programs are specialized to serve individuals with psychiatric disabilities and other serious chronic illnesses including HIV/AIDS. Options served more than 2,000 adults and children on Long Island last year.
